After a hard fought term of squash, Term 2 wrapped up on Tuesday night with our grand finals across all divisions.

A big thank you to all members who played throughout the term and helped make every week fun, competitive, and enjoyable.

What an incredible night at the club for our annual Cystic Fibrosisfundraiser round.

A massive thank you to everyone for their generosity - whether it was through donations, buying raffle tickets, Salty merchandise, roses, or simply wearing red and supporting the cause.

Together we raised an amazing $1,149 for Cystic Fibrosis research and support.

For a small community club, nights like this really say a lot about the people within it and highlight what a great club we have. The support, kindness and willingness of everyone to get behind an important cause genuinely means a lot.

A massive shout out to the The Rose Hotel, who continues to support our club and nights like this by generously donating the major raffle prize and to The Bohemian Flower Collective for donating the beautiful roses!

Next Tuesday is our annual 65 Roses Cystic Fibrosis Round. A special fundraiser night supporting Cystic Fibrosis research and support services.

There will be:
• A raffle, with numerous great prizes
• Donation tin and card donation options
• Salty merchandise available for purchase
• Fresh roses available to buy ($6 each) to take home for your loved ones 🌹 A massive thanks to The Bohemian Flower Collective for not only supplying, but donating these for the event 👏

Cystic fibrosis is especially close to our hearts, with Charlie, the son of club member Caillin, bravely living with this condition and the challenges it brings for himself and their family.

🔴We’d love everyone to wear something RED at the club to help raise awareness on the night and show support for Charlie! 🔴

Cystic fibrosis is a genetic condition that mainly affects the lungs and digestive system, causing thick, sticky mucus to build up in the body. This can lead to ongoing infections, breathing difficulties, and daily medical treatments. There is currently no cure, which is why fundraising and awareness are so important in supporting research, treatment, and families living with CF every day.

Google: A squash volunteer who does it all.

We are proud to congratulate one of our Life Members, Brad Grinter, on being named the Australian Squash Volunteer of the Year by Squash Australia. It’s a fantastic and well-deserved recognition of his outstanding contribution and dedication to our club and the wider squash community over 15+ years. From playing, coaching, being club president and captain, organising tournaments for the club or state, and now even refereeing, there’s not much this man hasn’t done in our sport!

Volunteers are the backbone of any sporting club, giving their time and passion to keep everything running, from organising events to supporting others and building a strong community. Without volunteers like Brad, sporting clubs, and our club simply wouldn’t function or thrive.

Congratulations Brad, and thank you for all the time and effort you’ve given over the years to the squash community. 🤝

The 2026 Harcher South West Open wrapped up over the weekend with a fantastic maximum turnout of 94 entrants and a great atmosphere across the entire event 👏

A huge congratulations to all division winners with special mention to the following:
🏆 Mike Corren (Men’s Open), who defeated David Illich 3–0
🏆 Josie Jones (Ladies Open), who defeated Fiona Woodley 3–0
🏆 Alexander Marsh (Boys AJST Silver Div 1)
🏆 Ruby Foo (Girls AJST Silver Div 1)

An incredible effort from Mike and Josie, who went through the entire tournament without dropping a single game, a dominant performance 💪

Another special mention to our club’s local upcoming star William Mennell who took out the his Div 3 Junior AJST division AND Men’s Div 7 👏 🤩🏆
