Suncoast Clippers Basketball has lost a true gentle soul with the passing of Bruce Fitzgerald. The long time basketball icon holds a massive place in Clippers history. Not only was he crowned with Cap #1, he was the first to captain/coach the Sunshine Coast Sea Eagles Mens team in 1986 and play on for another 2 seasons totalling 48 games. If this was not enough, Bruce was also the first captain of the Brisbane Bullets and was inducted into the QLD Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018. He had a love and passion for the sport that went way past his own accolades, always giving his time to school sports, behind the bench for stats & commentaries, scrimmaging with his local "Old Guys" group or just there to watch his family play.
You will be deeply missed by all and remembered by everyone who had the pleasure to come in contact with you.
The entire Clippers Family send our deepest thoughts to all the loved ones, friends & family.
