We will be kicking off at 11:00, and will run through a light net session until 12:30.

For anybody interested, a number of us will go and get lunch afterwards to catch up and further get to know any new players!

Anybody is welcome, whether you are sure about playing for us this season or not, as this will be a great opportunity to come and see how you fit in to the group!

🚨 Grand Final Update 🚨

With consideration of ground conditions, pitch preparations and the weather forecast, the Mercantile Cricket Association has activated the reserve day.

As a result, today’s 1st XI Grand Final on Western Oval has been rescheduled to tomorrow, Sunday 29 March at 12:00pm.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and look forward to seeing you tomorrow to support the boys! 💪🏏

To All Members Past and Present

The next RPBCC Past Players Golf Day is being held at Goonawarra Golf Course, 2 Francis Boulevard Sunbury. 

Tee off time is 9.40am so please ensure you get there by 9.30am for briefing and prizes.

Bookings are limited to 20 so please get in first as it is first in best dressed.

We normally play mid week but due to many requests have decided to use a Sunday which will free up the current playing group and give the players an opportunity to test their golfing skills with the more experienced and seasoned past players. The past players do not want to embarrass the "younguns" but that will probably happen !!!!!!!!

Cost of the round is either $70 (or $50 if you share a cart). Note there are only six carts available so again first in best dressed. Both costs include 18 holes and prizes. This course is in excellent condition very good value and participants will be suitably impressed.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of former player Derek Smart, who lost his battle with cancer on Wednesday 3 September 2025. Derek joined RPBCC for the 2005/06 season, introduced by his close friend Ben Shacklock, and played 28 games over 3 seasons.

RPBCC extends its condolences to Derek’s family and friends in this difficult time.

𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐲𝐧𝐞 "𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚" 𝐌𝐜𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐬

It is with great sadness that we advise all past and present members of the passing of Wayne "Sparra" McInnes who sadly lost his fight with cancer and passed away peacefully on the 20th March 2025. Sparra played at both Brunswick Districts CC and Royal Park CC, and then the amalgamated RPBCC. A fine wicket keeper and batsman he won club batting awards in the Senior Division of VTCA. For the older members we remember Sparra as being most competitive who would inspire you and intimidate opposition players. It is fair to say that Sparra called a spade a spade on or off the cricket field. His passing saddens all of us as he was a unique character in every way and we will all miss him. We pass on our deepest condolences to his wife Jeanette and his three children Jesse, Beth and Tom.

This Saturday (March 1) from 7pm the 2004/05 1st XI premiership team are having 20th year reunion drinks at the Terminus Hotel in Fitzroy North.

For anyone around the club from that era who would like to pop in for a beer and chat you are most welcome.
