This was the moment ...Emerson had just died but we were showing her the world and in-turn introducing the world to our “Emmie”. We were promising Emmie & ourselves to live life wholeheartedly, to always carry her in our hearts, to take on new challenges and to allow ourselves to be vulnerable with openness, honesty, gratitude and a commitment to learning and loving.
It’s not the greatest photo but Emerson had burst into our world (Prematurely) 6 days earlier and in the blink of an eye she was gone.
Emerson’s Challenge - we are introducing it to the world. Each of us have been living and when it feels right have been setting new challenges to inspire us to grow and be our best. Alexa is learning to surf. Courtenay undertaking a course and I completed my Cert IV Fitness.
The next of Emerson’s Challenge I’d love your support for and to also inspire you to do your own challenge.
Since a teenager I had always wanted to complete a Triathlon. So the next “Emersons Challenge” is set. It’s been 8 months since Emmie died and for the past 4 months I’ve been training for a Triathlon- 950m Swim; 95km Bike; 21.1km Run. - which has been a massive commitment to say the least.
It’s in a month from now - so it’s crunch time.
If you can- I’d love your support- there’s more info in the link...

Alternatively- set yourself a Challenge... ’sChallenge - do something for yourself (today) that your future self will thank you for.

Manifesto of the Brave and Brokenhearted
There is no greater threat to the critics and cynics and fearmongers
than those of us who are willing to fall because we have learned how to rise.
With skinned knees and bruised hearts;
we choose owning our stories of struggle, over hiding, over hustling, over pretending.
When we deny our stories, they define us. When we run from struggle, we are never free. So we turn toward truth and look it in the eye.
We will not be characters in our stories. Not villains, not victims, not even heroes.
We are the authors of our lives. We write our own daring endings.
We craft love from heartbreak, compassion from shame, grace from disappointment, courage from failure.
Showing up is our power.
Story is our way home. Truth is our song. We are the brave and brokenhearted.
We are rising strong.

Just a little nervous about the SMH half marathon is this Sunday.
My little girl Emerson was given a chance of survival because of the incredible work of the Drs and nurses at the Royal Randwick Hospital.
Heartbreakingly Emmie didn't survive, but I am inspired to ensure other babies are given the best chance possible to live, grow, survive and thrive.
Running for premature babies
Running for Premature Babies fundraise and provide urgently needed neonatal equipment to hospitals Australia wide. Join an event and give premature babies a better chance of survival.

Help Jane Wilson make a difference
We had a little girl born prematurely on January 1st this year. Her name is Emerson. "Emmie" is our second little girl and a little sister for Alexa. It began a few days prior, when shockingly and without notice Courtenay suffered acute Pre-eclampsia whilst she was 28 weeks pregnant. This meant Emer...
