Congratulations to current HAS Netball athlete Sienna Bullen & former HAS Netball Umpire athlete Sophie Hill on their selection in the U15 NSW All Schools Netball Team.

Congratulations also to former HAS Netball athletes Jade Stringer, Sienna Liva and Eve Power on their selection in the NSW All Schools Open Merit Team.

These selections are a fantastic recognition of their hard work and dedication. Well done to all five athletes on their outstanding achievements! 👏

🏅HAS ALUMNI SELECTED FOR NATIONAL TEAM🏅

Huge congratulations to HAS Future Stars alumni Taj Wolfenden, Zahra Johns and Rome Collyer on their selection to represent Australia at the upcoming WST World Cup in Rome, Italy

Taj and Zahra will compete in the Park event, while Rome will compete in the Street event as part of the Australian National Team, an incredible achievement that reflects their hard work, dedication, and commitment to their sport.

We are so proud to see Taj, Zahra and Rome continuing to achieve great things on the international stage and can’t wait to cheer them on in Rome!👏

We’re excited to invite Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to the Indigenous Talent Identification Day, supported by UAA and Santos Ltd.

This special Talent ID Day is designed to uncover sporting potential, with selected students given the opportunity to progress into fully funded scholarship positions within elite Hunter Academy of Sport programs.

Due to the size of the region, we will be hosting two days. You are only required to attend one of the scheduled days.

📍Where: Maitland Federation Centre & Muswellbrook Sports Centre
📆When: Thursday 25th June 2026 & Wednesday 26th August 2026
⏰Registration: 8:00am – 8:45am
💰Cost: Free (thanks to our generous sponsors UAA & Santos)

The 2026 Hunter Academy of Sport Athletics Program is now open for nominations. Designed for young Hunter Athletes with aspirations of state and national selection, this program provides advanced skill development and holistic athlete education.

Program Highlights:
✅ 5 months of supervised face-to-face Strength & Conditioning sessions
✅ Education workshops covering nutrition, psychology & injury prevention
✅ 2-day performance workshop with athlete retesting and direct coaching from experienced athletics coaches

We currently have some limited spots available for this year's Hunter Academy of Sport of Sport Sailing program, in partnership with Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club. To join the program register via the below link.

Program Highlights:
✔Advanced keelboat handling, including symmetrical spinnaker use
✔Fleet race training & regatta experience
✔In-depth knowledge of the Racing Rules of Sailing
✔Transitioning from dinghy to keelboat sailing
✔Improved teamwork dynamics
✔One-design regatta racing experience

To be eligible, nominees must have:
✔ Represented Australia or officiated at a national/ international level
✔ Competed in officially sanctioned events
✔ Retired from top-level competition
✔ Strong ties to the Hunter Region
