First Choice Fitness Broadbeach

Important member update:

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we write to inform you that we have been unable to reach a resolution with the centre management of the Oasis Shopping centre, and therefore First Choice Fitness Broadbeach will remain permanently closed.

We apologise that this happened so suddenly, but we had no prior warning from centre management that they would put an immediate cease to our trading. We acted as quickly as we could by suspending all direct debit payments as soon as we were notified.
We have contacted our billing provider (Debit Success) to advise them that we will not be reopening. The direct debits will remain on hold for a further 2 weeks. This enables members to still gain access to our Helensvale facility, while they are arranging a new gym membership.

We are aware that there are some members who live between both Helensvale and Broadbeach, and may wish to continue their memberships at First Choice Fitness Helensvale. If this is true in your case, please let us know as soon as possible. If you originally signed up at First Choice Fitness Broadbeach, we will need to transfer you to our Helensvale facility, so that you can continue your membership under the same rates and terms as before. Please email [email protected] if you would like to take this option.

If we do not hear from you, then your direct debit contract will close down on 22nd August 2018 (bear in mind no further payments will be taken unless you had overdue fees prior to our closure). The access to the Helensvale facility will cease on that date too unless you have arranged a transfer.

Important note – If you had overdue fees prior to our closure, your account will not fully close until these overdue fees are settled.

Lastly we would like to thank everyone for their continued support over the years. The gym has been trading (under different names) for over 30 years, so we are deeply saddened by this outcome. Some of our staff have been there for over 15 years and we are really going to miss the community of people at our gym.

Important member notice.

On Friday 3rd August, our gym doors were closed by Oasis Centre Management due to a lease dispute. We are trying our best to get this resolved asap however we are not yet sure of the outcome, especially as centre management have been putting pressure on us to increase the rent quite substantially (due to all the renovations in the shopping centre).

The amount they are asking for would not make it viable for us to stay in business, especially as we have always prided ourselves on making health and fitness affordable by keeping our membership prices competitive.

All direct debits have been placed on hold until further notice, so no payments will be deducted until we know more. Members are also welcome to use our Helensvale facility if it is convenient to them.
