Whether you're eager to master the art of partner dancing or simply looking to pick up a few moves to groove the night away, our events cater to all levels and interests. If you can walk to music you are half way to dancing Blues.
*Dance partner is not required, only the will to dance the Blues.

BASEQ International Blues Challenge Final 2026 lands at Lefty’s Music Hall on Sunday 23rd August in Petrie Terrace, Brisbane for a big day of world-class blues.
Blues fans, this is the one to lock in. The BASEQ International Blues Challenge Final brings together some of the strongest acts in the scene, all vying for the chance to represent BASEQ at the International Final in Memphis in 2027. Last year’s event at Lefty’s was a standout success, with 8 Ball Aitken & Taya Chani Band taking the win and doing a fantastic job on the Memphis stage.
This year’s finalists are:

The Midnight Sound Machine
Shotgun Sam and his World-Famous Blues Band
Sugarbag Blonde
Expect a full afternoon of powerful vocals, fiery guitar work, deep groove and genuine blues energy from start to finish. If you love great live music, this is a rare chance to catch some of the best blues acts around in one room 🎸🎤
