Evening fellas, as discussed we will all head over to Pines on the 21st August so start preparing for the journey..it’s almost 1hr away for the Logan/Sunnybank boys…40min for the Brisbane teams…. Although the comments around this it’s like heading to fu***ng Rocky for a few hours… this is an advanced notification to pack you lunch box, get a permission slip from your mum to stay out late, condition your self for extreme stress in travelling more than 30mins to a game and get your big boy pants on and kick your teams into action! Apparently Rayno and Trev will be putting on a master class in rugby… however they have food and beer and we can watch that from the sidelines….. getting closer to the end of the season and “we need to give the North some love” ❤️ Chur cuzzies Bubba

🏉 Another great day of Over 50s rugby in the books!
A huge thank you to everyone who pulled on the boots, ran the touch, refereed, supported from the sidelines, or simply came along to enjoy the afternoon.
The scoreboard is only part of the story. Days like today are about friendship, staying active, having a laugh, and proving that rugby continues to bring people together long after our “prime” years.
To our opposition – # # , we think??? thanks for the contest and the camaraderie. Hopefully we’ll see you again soon.
If you’ve ever thought about dusting off the boots, now’s the time. Whether you’re 50 or well beyond, there’s always a jersey waiting and a cold drink afterwards.
Until next time… stay healthy, stay connected, and keep playing the game we all love. 🍻🏉

🏉 Over 50s… but still dangerous (to ourselves and occasionally the opposition)!
This Sunday it’s time to dust off the boots, strap on the knees, and prove we’ve still got a few good runs left in us.
Who’s playing? Please let us know by commenting “I’m in” or ticking yourself as attending. We need numbers to sort teams and make sure nobody has to play the full 80! 😉
Bring your sense of humour, your old rugby stories, and whatever joints are still working. See you Sunday!

So lads, Saturday 4 July 2026 I’m running the Gold Coast half Marathon - or even Slowathon again. Who would have thought it as a tight head prop of over 50 years of Rugby? The knees aren’t getting any better or me any younger but I’m proud to have two beautiful children and would like to think everyone one would have the same chance…,As I said last year my wife several years before our reconnecting had triplets, all boys, with her ex husband born quite prematurely. Very sadly over the next 10 or so days all three passed away. Hence I selected a charity that supports parents with Premmie Babies to try and raise some funds for with my run. So I know times are even tougher but anyone who could throw in a few dollars, shekels, pounds or drachma it would be appreciated by those parents and babies. What does a couple of pints cost now? All donations over $2 are tax deductible and 30 June is coming up if you’re looking for a tax deduction this year! Cheers lads and see everyone Wednesday night. Santa!

What a fantastic day at the 2026 Puffing Dragons Festival!
A huge thank you to everyone at Sunnybank Rugby Union for opening the gates to the Dragons’ Lair and hosting such a memorable afternoon of rugby, mateship and community spirit.
From the old boys huffing and puffing their way around the paddock we extend special thanks to the volunteers, organisers, referees, supporters, sponsors and players who made the event possible. Your hard work behind the scenes ensured a great day for everyone involved.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who came along, shared a laugh, renewed old friendships and helped keep the spirit of rugby alive and thriving.
Here’s to a continued year of camaraderie, questionable fitness levels, and proving that while the legs may be older, the rugby stories just keep getting better… or worse…
