I used to be part of the problem.

Early in my career I looked at people in bigger bodies & was genuinely concerned about their health.

But if I’m being perfectly honest, I also judged them.

I thought I was worried about their health.

What I actually was, was young, naive, and very misinformed.

And this was standard gym marketing:

➡️ Sweat is fat crying
➡️ Shredding for the wedding
➡️Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.

Fu***ng. Gross.

In 2017 I walked away from mainstream fitness and started marketing myself as a weight neutral, body positive trainer.

The backlash was immediate.

People felt like I was letting women ‘off the hook’ by not putting them on a scale first. wtf?

Here’s the one good thing about having a brain that’s allergic to doing what everyone else is doing. I didn’t care that I was going against the grain.

My gut had already decided this was right before the industry cottoned on to “body positive fitness marketing.”

Ten years on.
Hundreds of clients.
Strong, capable & confident.

And not one of them got there by stepping on a scale in my studio.
