Week 7 – recovery position
Skills – catching, throwing, hitting, running backwards/sideways
Activities:
1. ball collection
2. ball catch and recover
3. ball tap/hit and recover

Instructions
1. 10-15 minutes of practice 2 to 3 times a week
2. do any/all of the activities
3. keep it challenging. set time-related goals, set targets for hitting and throwing.
Technical tips
1. in activity 3, turn your shoulders and hips side on as early as possible when moving out to hit the ball.

Week 5 – getting side on
Skills – throwing/hitting, catching

1. side on throws
2. side on catches
3. target side on throws
4. overarm target throws

1. 20 minutes of practice 2 to 3 times a week
2. do any/all of the activities
3. keep it challenging. Adjust the size of the target as needed
Technical tips
1. get side on with your feet, hips and shoulders before you throw/catch/hit the ball.

Week 3 - Perception/watching the ball
Skills - catching, tap ups, tap downs, juggling
Activities:
1. ball toss catch
2. tap downs
3. tap ups
4. juggling

1. 20 minutes of practice 2 to 3 times a week
2. do any/all of the activities
3. Start at activity 1, if it is too easy, move on to the next one. Don't keep doing it if it's not challenging.
Technical tips
1. no technical tips this week, other than watch the ball closely and make sure you are calling out the symbol you see.

Week 2 - Overarm serve
Skills - ball toss, overarm throw, hitting above your head
Activities:
1. ball toss catch
2. ball toss land
3. moon and rocket
4. overarm throw accuracy
5. overarm serve accuracy

Instructions
1. 20 minutes of practice 2 to 3 times a week
2. do any/all of the activities
3. Start at activity 1, if it is too easy, move on to the next one. Don't keep doing it if it's not challenging.
Technical tips
1. practice all activities while standing in a side-on position
2. try and keep your feet still during all activities – back heel can come off the ground when throwing and serving.
3. keep your ball tossing arm straight.
4. try and catch/contact the ball as high as you can during the activity 1 and activity 5.

It's finally here - the final week of our Hot Shots Match Play Friday for the term. The race to claim the champions trophy is close! Elena sits on top of the Red Stage comp, while it is neck and neck in the Orange Stage comp. Good luck to everyone playing tonight!
Come along and play or support. Play starts at 4:45pm (Red) and 6:15pm (Orange) at The Green, Carseldine Village.
