The postponed MYCQ June 2026 General Meeting is on this Thursday 16 July 2026 at 7:30pm.

To facilitate a wider audience of members and guests the meeting will be online only via Microsoft Teams.

Club members have been sent an email with the link to the meeting. If any non-members would like to attend please email me at [email protected] and I can send you a calendar invite and link to the meeting.

The agenda will be as follows:

• 2026 AGM planning & 2027 Management Committee vacancies
• Report from Rear Commodore Ben Kelly’s recent US trip

Vale Mike Hodges

Dear Members

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of life member Mike Hodges on 4 June 2026.

Mike served as Vice Commodore from 2006 until 2017 and was a regular competitor in the Brisbane to Gladstone Multihull Yacht Race. Mike co-skippered Enchantress to 1st place on OMR and 1st place on PHS in the 2005 race. In 2007 and 2008 Mike co-skippered Renaissance to first place on OMR and followed this up with a PHS win for Renaissance in 2011.

Mike's funeral will be held on Friday 12 June 12:30pm at Albany Creek Memorial Garden, 400 Albany Creek Road, Bridgeman Downs followed by a wake at the Captains Room, The Pavilions at Allan Border Field, 1 Greg Chappell St, Albion.

Our sincerest condolences to the Hodges family on behalf of the MYCQ Management Committee and members.

Dear members

The MYCQ June 2026 General Meeting was scheduled for this Thursday 4 June 2026.

Due to a number of key management members being unavailable we are postponing this week's meeting and will reschedule for late June or early July.

Quick reminder that the MYCQ March 2026 General Meeting is on tonight at 7:30pm the MYCQ Clubhouse.

MYCQ members Drew Carruthers and Becky Moloney are speaking tonight to offer insights into Rushour's eventuful 2025 Groupama 600 and provide an update on their new project.

As announced previously, the Offshore Multihull Rating (OMR) formulae and specifications have been under review for the last few months. This review is now complete, and the new spreadsheet (labelled Version 10) will come into effect from today. Please go to the MYCQ website OMR page for the new ratings, as well as supporting documentation describing the changes that have been made to the rules and specifications.

The intent of the review (as with prior reviews) is to keep making multihull racing under OMR as competitive and unbiased as possible and in turn to increase participation and enjoyment of our sport.
