This has got to be a first 😂

I don’t think I’ve ever won anything that wasn’t sport-related, but last night I was fortunate enough to win the Social Impact Award at the 40 Under 40.

While I get to stand up there and accept the award, there are so many people behind the work we’ve done through The Man That Can Project and the endurance challenges over the years.

None of it happens without the people around me.

To everyone close enough to see the sacrifices, the stress, the long days and everything that goes on behind the scenes — thank you for continuing to back me regardless.

I truly appreciate you.

Very grateful for the recognition.

Now… onto the Sydney Marathon 🏃‍♂️

Still one of the coolest experiences of my life.

How would you respond if the room was full?

That is exactly how you should respond when it's empty.

I walked into a cinema in Perth on Monday. 11 people. 58 empty seats.

I felt like a failure for about 30 seconds.

Then I remembered... I can't control who showed up. I can only control how I show up for the ones who did.

New episode live! The Three-Step Framework I used to shift it in real time.

It’s easy when you step into fatherhood to think that putting yourself last is the right thing to do.

Provide. Show up. Take care of everyone else.

But if you’re burnt out, stressed and starting to get resentful, eventually that affects everything around you too.

Something I keep coming back to is this:

1. Self
2. Partner
3. Family

In that order.

Feed yourself so you have more to give the relationship.

Feed the relationship so it has more to give the family.

Don’t overcomplicate it.

Which of those three relationships needs more attention from you right now?

Eight pairs of shoes got me through 58 marathons in 58 days across 58 states.

Originally, I planned on finding one shoe I liked and buying multiple pairs of the same model.

But I was advised to rotate different shoes to change how I ran each day.

I ended up using:

3 × New Balance
2 × HOKA
1 × ASICS
1 × Brooks
1 × ON

I’ve never been one to obsess over running shoes. I normally stick to what I know and grab a pair when they’re on discount. Haha.

But the more I’m getting into my running, the more I’m paying attention to what suits my stride and what feels best over long distances.

I’m testing a few pairs at the moment and I’ll share what I land on soon.

What shoe should I test next?

The last few days have been pretty surreal.

I’ve had dozens of messages from people who’ve watched the documentary and shared how it inspired them, how much they loved seeing what actually went on during the 58, and how it’s made them want to see what they’re capable of.

I still feel like the same bloke I’ve always been, so hearing that something we created has had an impact on someone’s life is something I don’t think I’ll ever fully get used to.

The 58 was always more than a run.

It was about talking about mental health, adventuring with mates, having a crack and hopefully showing people that there’s more in them than they might realise.

If you’ve watched it, shared it, or taken the time to send me a message, thank you. I genuinely appreciate it.

Now it’s time to get through the Sydney Marathon.

Then we’re not too far away from sharing what’s next 👀
