Megan Crockart - Balancing Nutrition + Yoga
Brisbane based Clinical Nutritionist and Yoga Teacher - in person, phone or online options
As a qualified nutritionist I can assist you with any health issue/concern you may have. I believe that good diet, exercise and lifestyle changes alone can often be enough to combat many illnesses and diseases with prevention always being better than cure. Many conditions can be triggered due to nutritional deficiencies and I like to focus on bringing these nutritional deficiencies into balance wi

So although I've been in clinical practice for 15 years, I started offering in person consults at my home clinic at start of 2020. I was just about to start designing some signs when covid hit.... how long can we keep blaming the covid era for not doing things!?! π«£
6 years later I decided it was well and truly past due and especially since the last 12 months I only consult from my home clinic (or via telehealth).
I am very fortunate that my niece Emma emma is into design and created my signs for me!! Thank you so much for your creative flare to finally get this idea a reality!!! π

Do you know how important plant foods are for your microbiome?
Let me tell you...
They are very important!!!!!
Plant food fibres are what feeds your good bacteria in your gut!!
Are you on a carnivore diet? Whilst this diet gets rave reviews (especially by influencers), long term you are going to starve your microbiome and allow the bad bacteria to flourish and make space for potential pathogens to take hold.
Do you know how many different plant foods per week are recommended to be eaten for microbiome health? And I am talking all plant foods not just veggies and not serves, but how many different plants per week?
Post your guesses below π€π

I have always been drawn to volunteering and helping out and being involved in my community.
As a teenager, i was involved in volunteering at the local youth radio station as a radio announcer (and yes it was a main radio station listened to across mid North Coast region of NSW). Around this age I also did a number of car washes.
Moving into my early 20's and working in law firms, I was always a volunteer fire warden in the city buildings I worked in. Too many times leading people in fire drills down 34 + levels of fire stairs! π₯΅
In more recent years with having children, I volunteered to cater events for Australian breastfeeding association.
Now I volunteer as secretary on the committee for Belmont Scout group as well as parent helper.
2 weeks ago was national volunteer week across Australia! I was very humbled and thankful to receive this certificate and recognition for the work I do as a volunteer!
Have you done any volunteer work? So many things in our communities wouldnt run without the help of volunteers!

Have you ever wondered whether you can get protein from plants or can you only get your protein needs from meat?
Carnivore is a popular diet right now, but it's definitely not for everyone.
You don't have to eat animal forms of protein to get your protein needs.
Have a read of my article about plant proteins and how you can combine them to get the essential amino acids that you need.
Do you know which plants are a complete protein? In that they contain all the essential amino acids on their own?
