🦅 Eagles Soar at Shaw Road! 🦅

The Eagles continued their good form with a commanding 45–28 win over the Souths Magpies at Shaw Road on Saturday!

Our Colts also had a standout day, winning all three of their matches this is the first time they've swept the board this season! 👏

All other grades put up a great fight, with Souths edging out close, hard-fought wins across the board. Proud of the effort from every team on the day!

Onwards and upwards, Eagles 💪

Here are the standings after 13 Rounds. Our Premier Men sit 2nd and our Premier Women sit 7th with 5 Rounds to go in the regular season.

Get down to Hugh Courtney Oval this coming Saturday as Norths take on GPS in a critical clash. Our Premier Women will be chasing a win to move up to 6th while our Premier Men will be chasing another win to stay in the hunt for an historic final's appearance (first time since 1992) ......

This week we were very well represented at the Queensland Country Championships in Townsville. We had players in the U13, U14 and U16 Boys competitions and our Girls competed in the U14 and U16 age groups as well.

The performances across the few days of competition were excellent with many of our players earning selection in the Boys and Girls Brisbane City teams that will play in another competition in the coming week.

A huge shout out and congratulations for all our Junior Norths players for representing yourselves and your club with such distinction! Good luck to all of you competing next week in your respective City teams.

Looking forward to you all bringing back what you have learnt in this representative experience and applying it to the second half of our season.

In addition, we have six (6) under 18 girls selected to compete in the National Championships on the Sunshine Coast. Congratulations to all players.

Further to our recent post about the tragic passing of our 3rd Grade Manager, Mr. Luke Schoeffler, the club can now confirm that the funeral details are as follows;

Thursday 9th July
Service Commences at 2pm

Club Members and Players are encouraged to attend Luke's Service, acknowledging the passing of a great rugby and family man.

Following the Service, a wake will be held at Norths Rugby Club, 128 Shaw Road, Wavell Heights, commencing at 5pm. The bar will be open and nibbles will be provided. All welcome.

A reminder that Norths will be acknowledging Luke's passing at this weekend's home match against Souths. RIP Shuffles.........

It is with great sadness that the Norths Rugby Community acknowledges the sudden passing of 3rd Grade Team Manager, Mr. Luke Schoeffler.

Luke has managed teams and volunteered his time at the Eagles for the past ten (10) years, and on behalf of the club, we would like to extend our deepest condolences to his partner, Kylie, and to his extended family and friends.

All Norths Players are asked to wear black arm bands during their respective matches against Souths this weekend. There will be a minute silence prior to the commencement of the 3rd Grade match this Saturday to acknowledge Luke's sudden passing.

We are currently awaiting confirmation of funeral arrangements. Once these arrangements are confirmed, we will post updates on the club's page.
