The power of stretching..

There’s never too much stretching!

Stretching isn’t just about becoming more flexible. It’s about giving your body the opportunity to release tension, increase length, move more freely and simply feel better.

Think about how often you’re sitting, driving, working, training or rushing through your day.

Making time to stop and pause could change your day!

✨ THANK YOU, BULIMBA! ✨

A huge thank you to everyone who joined me tonight for Flexibility in Bulimba!

It was so lovely moving, stretching and slowing down together.

And now… the next chapter begins. ✨

From tomorrow, virtual classes with Kelly Batt Health & Fitness are officially underway — making movement, flexibility and mindfulness part of your week, wherever you are.

Let’s move well. Feel well. Live well. 💚

Yesterday evening at flexibility class, we were all pretty much ready to go, but we still had a few minutes before class officially started.

I said, “We’ve got a few minutes, so if anyone wants to start foam rolling, feel free to get started.”

One of the ladies looked at me and said:

“Do you mean… WITHOUT you telling us to?” 😂

The whole class started laughing.

Then I asked, “So… should we start setting homework?” 😂

It was such a small moment, but I loved it. Because that’s what community feels like — everyone comfortable enough to have a laugh, and just enjoy being together.

These are the little moments that make coaching so much fun. ❤️

Our first Wednesday night Flex Class is officially done, and it was a great way to finish the day.

The session focused on rolling and stretching, with everyone working through a range of exercises at their own pace.

It was great to see the group engage with the stretches, and, most importantly, take the time to focus on breathing and technique.

By the end of the session, there was a noticeable difference in how everyone was moving and feeling.

A great first session 🙌

Your body is talking. Are you listening? 👀

It usually starts with a little ni**le.

A tight hip.
A stiff neck.
That achy lower back.
Shoulders that feel like they’ve been creeping towards your ears all day.

You notice it… but you keep going.

“Probably just sitting too much.”
“I’ll stretch later.”
“It’ll be fine.”

Until that little ni**le becomes something you can’t ignore.

If you spend 8 hours a day sitting at a desk, your body is giving you feedback all day long. And those little ni**les are often your reminder to move, stretch and give your body some attention.

You don’t need hours.

Even making time after a long day to stretch your hip flexors, quads, hamstrings, neck, chest and glutes can help you feel so much better going into the evening — and change how you feel when you wake up the next morning.

And this is exactly what my flexibility class is about.

Clients tell me they leave feeling taller, lighter and looser — like they’ve finally given their body the movement it’s been asking for.

So… be honest:

Are you listening to your body, or waiting until it starts shouting?

Your future self will thank you for stretching today. 🤍

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately…
When I was younger, I used to say “I don’t have time” ALL the time.

No time to catch up.
No time to call someone back.
No time to do that thing I’d been meaning to do.
No time to just… slow down.

And now, since having my beautiful children, something has shifted.

Not because I suddenly have more time — quite the opposite 😂 — but because I’ve realised just how precious it actually is.

I’m so much more conscious of who I make time for, where I spend my time, what I say yes to, and what is actually worth my energy.

Having kids has made me incredibly efficient with the little pockets of time I do have. And it’s also made me realise that sometimes, when we say “I don’t have time”, what we really mean is “it’s not a priority for me right now.”

And jeez… if I could go back and tell my 20-year-old self that. 😂

Because I wasn’t lying when I said I didn’t have time.

I just didn’t understand yet that time looks different in different seasons of life — and our priorities change with it.

Now I’m much more protective of my time.
Because it’s one thing I can’t get back.

Do you agree? Has having kids — or simply moving through different seasons of life — changed the way you think about your time?

I’d genuinely love to know. ❤️👇

You Don’t Need More Time. You Need to Pause..

This morning, I sat with a coffee and read a few pages of my book while my husband and my children headed off on a little adventure to the shops.

I noticed a lady looking at the bookshelf in the café — books that you’re more than welcome to take, read and bring back.

The man who owns the café said, “You’re more than welcome to take one if you’d like.”

Her response?

“I’m smashed with work. I wouldn’t have time. Maybe one day.”

And it really made me think.

Because this is exactly why I’ve introduced flexibility on Mondays and Wednesdays.

More than ever, my why is about helping people pause. Slow down. Step out of the constant go, go, go. To be present. To reconnect with your breath and your body. To create space for yourself.

There is a demand for it.
People want to feel better. They want to slow down.

But so many of us are so caught up in the busyness of life that even reading a book for 10 minutes a day feels impossible.

But it is possible.

It starts with pausing.
It starts with changing our habits.
It starts with choosing ourselves — even for 10 minutes.

You don’t always need more time. Sometimes you just need to create the space. 🤍

Sunday reminder: you’re allowed to slow down. You’re allowed to pause. And you don’t have to wait for “one day.” ✨

Have you moved today? 👀

If you’ve spent most of the day sitting at a desk, take 2 minutes for your Friday Pause:

Roll your shoulders.
Find a doorway and stretch your chest, shoulders and lats.
Take a few slow breaths.
Stand up and walk around.

Nothing complicated. Just a little movement.

We don’t always need to overhaul our whole routine. Sometimes we just need to stop, move and give ourselves a minute.

That’s the idea behind the workplace wellness sessions I’m developing — small moments of movement, and small moments for you.

Your body will thank you for it.

One of my clients walked into class last week with a big smile and said:

“I’m looking forward to walking out of here taller than when I came in. I’ve really missed this class while I’ve been away.”

That comment made me smile because it perfectly sums up what these classes are all about.

Yes, we stretch. Yes, we work on flexibility.
But it’s so much more than that.

It’s taking 45 minutes out of a busy week to reconnect with your body.

It’s letting go of the tension you’ve been carrying without even realising it.

It’s sharing a laugh, celebrating the little wins, and enjoying the company of people who simply want to move and feel better.

One of my favourite things is watching people arrive feeling tight, tired, or stressed, then leave standing a little taller, moving more freely, and with a completely different energy.

Over time, familiar faces become friends, conversations start before class, and everyone encourages each other along the way.

Creating that sense of community is one of the best parts of what I do.

Have you ever finished a class, a walk, or a workout and thought, “I really needed that”? I’d love to hear what it was that made the difference.
