Congratulations to Mermaids Izzy and Amelie and the entire Australian team and coaching staff on their historic win at the World Aquatics U18 World Championships 2026. They are part of the first Australian team to hold the U18 title sharing this with only 4 other countries and breaking a 19 year drought since Australian women won the U20 world championships. Congratulations to Lucy, Jess, Lulu and Ruby who represented Qld at the interstate challenge last week in Woy Woy. Qld came away with the silver medal and Lucy was named in the Tournament 7, well done to all and a big congratulations to Lucy on her individual selection. 🤽‍♀️🧜‍♀️👏👏

Wishing Izzy and Amelie all the best tonight as they take on the USA in their Semi Final at the 18&U Women’s World Championships. These girls were members of the Aus 16&U that won Bronze two years ago, can they place higher this year. Go girls. 🤽‍♀️🇦🇺🧜‍♀️💚💛

As the competition nears Mermaids wish Amelie and Isabelle all the best as they continue their final preparations for the U18 women’s water polo world championships which start on the 16th. The Australian team have spent some valuable time in pre tournament mode in Barcelona and Tenerife, Spain with scrimmages against Croatia, NZ, Canada, China, USA and Spain.
