A huge congratulations to our Southern Cross Tennis players, with ** 8 teams qualifying for the semi finals and 4 teams making it through to the finals** this season! 👏🏆

Congratulations to all players who competed in our SCT Annual Tournament this term! We saw some fantastic tennis, great sportsmanship, and plenty of determination on display.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the J125 Tournament held on 23–24 May. It was a fantastic event, with more than 240 entries competing across two busy venues.

Samford Tennis Club was proudly represented by:

Andrew Mather, Jakob Eekelschot, Will Purcell, Jacob Muridge, Pat Raschke, Ran Singh, David Pham, Rhiver Gruber-Lin, Henry Petie, Sam Whitby, Ava Rahnama, and Aanya Shah.

Special Mentions
🎉 Will Purcell had an outstanding tournament, claiming both the Boys 14 & Under Singles and Doubles titles. He secured the singles championship with a strong 6–1, 7–5 victory in the final.

👏 Aanya Shah finished as Runner-Up in the Girls 12 & Under Tier 2 event. She played a highly competitive final, narrowly going down 6–3, 7–6 after a terrific effort.

🔥 David Pham was Runner-Up in the Boys 12 & Under Tier 3 event. He battled through a nail-biting final and should be proud of his impressive performance throughout the tournament.

We are incredibly proud of all our players for their effort, sportsmanship, and achievements. We look forward to following their continued development and seeing what comes next for these talented young athletes.

We had our best turnout in years for the march, which is a true reflection of the incredible community and values our club stands for. It was fantastic to see so many players and families come together to support the club and honour the ANZACs.

In keeping with the long-standing tradition of ANZAC Day services, the main Samford Valley ANZAC Day Ceremony—hosted by the Samford RSL Sub Branch—will feature wreath laying, the Last Post, and a minute’s silence this Saturday 25th April 2026.

Samford Tennis Club / Southern Cross Tennis will be taking part in the march, and we’d love for our community to join us.

Our club is made up of players of all ages, families who are continuously helping support the club, a wonderful volunteer committee and many more people that help make our club an amazing place to play tennis! This is a meaningful opportunity to come together, show our support for one another, and honour the ANZACs.
