Congratulations, Master Cameron

Yun Jung Do International proudly congratulates Master Cameron on his induction into both the Australasian Martial Arts Hall of Fame and the World Karate Union Hall of Fame, recognised at a prestigious Gala event in Melbourne last weekend.

The significance of the occasion was reflected in the calibre of martial artists recognised alongside Master Cameron, including internationally renowned martial arts legend Benny “The Jet” Urquidez and Grandmaster Henry Sue, together with many other highly respected figures from the martial arts community.

To receive this recognition alongside such accomplished martial arts legends is a tremendous honour and a fitting acknowledgement of Master Cameron’s lifelong commitment to martial arts, teaching, leadership and the development of others.

For Yun Jung Do International, this recognition represents far more than another accolade. It acknowledges decades of dedication to learning, teaching and sharing the knowledge and experience gained throughout a lifetime in martial arts.

From his early beginnings in martial arts through to his role today as Chief Instructor of Yun Jung Do International, Master Cameron has remained committed to the belief that martial arts is about far more than physical skill — it is about developing better people through martial arts.

We are extremely proud to see Master Cameron’s contribution recognised on such a prestigious stage and proud to have him leading Yun Jung Do International and continuing to represent the principles of The Art of Human Development around the world.

Please join us in congratulating Master Cameron on this outstanding achievement. A well-deserved recognition of a lifetime dedicated to martial arts.

Martial Arts Is More Than Belts. It's About Education.

There is often a lot of discussion in the martial arts world about grades, titles and lineage.

These things are important, but they are only part of the picture.

At Yun Jung Do International, we believe that developing great instructors requires far more than awarding black belts. It requires a structured education system that teaches not only what to teach, but how to teach.

That belief led Grandmaster Young Ku Yun to spend many years developing a comprehensive instructor education program that was delivered through an Australian Government Registered Training Organisation (RTO), with nationally recognised Diploma and Advanced Diploma qualifications.

This wasn't about creating another certificate. It was about building an education framework with defined learning outcomes, assessment standards, teaching methodology and professional development.

While many martial arts organisations issue instructor certificates, very few have invested the time and effort required to develop an education system of this standard.

Our focus has never been on politics or comparing ourselves to others.

Our focus is on producing knowledgeable instructors, capable leaders and skilled martial artists who continue learning throughout their lives.

Because a black belt is not the end of the journey.

It's the beginning of becoming a teacher.

Traditional Skills. Modern Education. Lifelong Learning.

The Journey Never Stops

In Yun Jung Do, every promotion is recognition of the work that has already been done—not a reward for simply turning up.

Each new grade reflects the time spent developing technique, discipline, respect and character.

The belt may change, but the responsibility remains the same.

Keep learning.

Keep improving.

Stay humble.

Because the true journey of martial arts isn't measured by the colour around your waist, but by the person you become through your training.

Meet Master Ross Cameron

Master Ross Cameron began his martial arts journey in New Zealand at the age of four. What started as a childhood interest soon became a lifelong commitment to martial arts, personal development and the pursuit of excellence.

As a young martial artist, Master Cameron met Grandmaster Young Ku Yun, whose knowledge, leadership and dedication to martial arts would have a profound influence on the course of his life. Recognising his commitment, work ethic and potential, Grandmaster Yun personally invited Master Cameron to move to Brisbane, Australia, to become his live-in student, known in Japanese martial arts as an "uchi-deshi".

Accepting this invitation meant leaving his home in New Zealand and committing himself to full-time training under the direct guidance of Grandmaster Yun. Living and training alongside the Founder provided Master Cameron with a unique opportunity to develop not only his technical ability, but also the discipline, leadership, teaching philosophy and values that would shape the rest of his martial arts career.

As Grandmaster Yun founded Yun Jung Do, Master Cameron became the resident instructor at Headquarters and was appointed as one of only four founding International Instructors, entrusted with helping establish and develop the organisation during its formative years. Working closely alongside the Founder gave Master Cameron a unique understanding of the art, its philosophy and the standards expected of every Yun Jung Do instructor.

Over the decades that followed, Master Cameron remained committed to the growth and development of Yun Jung Do. He has taught and mentored students and instructors throughout Australia and internationally, helping establish clubs, support instructors and preserve the principles, traditions and values passed on by Grandmaster Yun.

Following Grandmaster Yun's retirement, Master Cameron was appointed **Chief Instructor and Chairman of Yun Jung Do International**, accepting the responsibility of leading the organisation into its next chapter while preserving the vision and legacy established by its Founder.

For Master Cameron, Yun Jung Do has always been about far more than physical techniques. It is about developing character, discipline, humility, respect and leadership—qualities that extend beyond the training hall and into everyday life. He believes the role of an instructor is not simply to teach martial arts, but to help people become better individuals through their training.

Today, Master Cameron is committed to supporting affiliated clubs, mentoring instructors and ensuring future generations experience the same guidance, opportunities and values that Grandmaster Young Ku Yun shared with his students. While respecting the traditions on which Yun Jung Do was founded, he is equally committed to ensuring the organisation continues to grow, evolve and remain relevant for generations to come.

Master Cameron looks forward to meeting members throughout the upcoming international seminar tour and continuing to work alongside instructors and students as Yun Jung Do International enters its next chapter.

Why should you commit to a week of training?

This November, Yun Jung Do International will once again host our annual Week-Long Intensive.

More than a seminar...

It's an opportunity to step away from the distractions of everyday life and fully immerse yourself in your martial arts journey.

Throughout the week you'll train across multiple sessions each day, deepen your understanding of Yun Jung Do principles, learn alongside instructors and members from different clubs, and take the time to ask questions, refine your skills and continue your personal development.

At Yun Jung Do we believe that martial arts is about far more than learning techniques.

Martial arts is the vehicle. Human development is the destination.

That philosophy is what makes this week different.

If you're looking to grow not only as a martial artist, but as a person, we invite you to join us this November.

Strong Organisations Are Built By Strong Instructors

The future of any martial arts organisation is not determined by its headquarters.

It is determined by the quality of its instructors.

Every class taught.
Every student encouraged.
Every lesson delivered.

These small actions shape the culture of a club and the future of an organisation.

As Yun Jung Do continues to grow internationally, our focus remains on supporting instructors, developing leaders and helping clubs create positive environments where students can thrive.

Strong instructors build strong clubs.

Strong clubs build strong communities.

23/06/2026

Strong martial arts clubs do more than teach techniques.

They build communities.

A good club creates an environment where people can learn, grow and support one another. It becomes a place where friendships are formed, confidence is developed and future leaders are created.

The impact of a martial arts club extends far beyond the training floor.

It influences families.

It strengthens communities.

It helps people become better versions of themselves.

As instructors and leaders, we have a responsibility to create positive environments where every student has the opportunity to succeed.

When we build strong clubs, we build strong communities.

Together, we continue the journey of developing people through martial arts.

Developing Better People Through Martial Arts.
