Wishart parkrun #590 — Another great Saturday at Wishart!

What a fantastic morning at Wishart parkrun, with 306 runners, joggers and walkers joining us for another Saturday morning 5km.

A huge thank you to our 15 volunteers who made today’s event possible. Parkrun simply wouldn’t happen without the people who give up their Saturday morning to marshal, scan barcodes, hand out tokens, take photos, set up, pack down and keep everything running smoothly. We appreciate every one of you.

Congratulations to everyone who reached a parkrun milestone this week! Whether it was your first milestone or another big number added to your parkrun journey, it’s a fantastic achievement and one worth celebrating.

And a very special congratulations to our amazing Run Director Virginia, who reached an incredible 400 parkruns this week!

Virginia has given so much to the Wishart parkrun community over the years, both as a participant and as one of the people who helps make Wishart happen week after week. Four hundred parkruns is a remarkable achievement — congratulations, Virginia!

To everyone who walked, jogged, ran, volunteered, encouraged someone else or simply came along and enjoyed the morning — thank you for being part of the Wishart parkrun community.

WISHART PARKRUN — THIS SATURDAY!

The weekend is almost here, which means it’s time to get your parkrun fix at Wishart!

Whether you’re chasing a PB, getting some exercise, walking with friends, bringing the family along, or simply enjoying the atmosphere, there’s a place for everyone at Wishart parkrun.

Important times:
• First Timers Briefing — 6:50am
• Pre-run Briefing — 6:55am
• START — 7:00am SHARP

Please arrive with enough time to park, get yourself organised and make your way to the start. We don’t want anyone missing the briefing — or the start!

A couple of volunteer spots to fill:
We’re also looking for a photographer and a barcode scanner this Saturday. If you can help out, we’d love to have you on the team. Every volunteer helps make parkrun happen! Happy for any potential volunteers to message us!

So lace up, bring a friend and come join us for another great Saturday morning at Wishart parkrun.

Thank you to our group of vollies this week - you all did an amazing job to assist so very thankful - Leigh, Devin, Solomon, Karen, Iris, Rebecca, Suzanna, David, Lilly, Craig, & our wonderful tail walkers Vicki & Matt !!

Couldn't miss it was 22/Tutu day today.
Awash with Tutu's out on the course today with 319 attendees!!
David first in 17:39 followed by Ashely 19:01. First female in Katelyn 20:37. We had 6 very first timers. Every week we seem to have some very first timers - it is great to see.

BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Jennifer on her 200th today.
AND a parkrun official 500 CONGRATULATIONS completed today by Elizabeth.
Order that new shirt Elizabeth as well deserved.
What a great achievement to you both !
The vibe was very colour blue and we so enjoyed celebrating with you both !!

We do need a barcode scanner for next week and plenty of spots to fill over September. If you haven't tried volunteering you really don't know what you are missing out on - helping us run parkrun and new friendships - put your name on the list at the table next week or come and ask us any questions.

Beautiful morning out on the course with 279 walking, jogging, running and of course smiling.

BIG thanks to our super volunteers today–
Solomon, Devin, Chris, Vicki, Shannan, Sarah, Brett, Matt, Emelia, Rebecca, Rose & Tim were our wondergul tail walkers picking up our markers on their way back. Thank you all !!

Next week we urgently need a Timekeeper and a barcode scanner. Please message if available.
Please see the roster at the table next week as we all need to volunteer a few times a year so that we all enjoy our parkrun.
There are lots of spots to fill rest of August and September.

Our first 3 in were one second apart Aran 17.36, Roggie 17.37 & Jason 17.38. Victoria first female in 19.01.
