Punk Blockers June Wrapped

Now that we’ve finally had some time to rest after such an amazing month let’s celebrate the amazing month that the PBs had!! 🔥

June:
- Finally getting to post the results of our spectacular photoshoot with 🥵
- Having an incredible time at TGSS 2026! Taking out second place and supporting our Kennedys in their amazing TGSS run as well
- Coming closer together as a team than ever before ♥️
- Leaving it all on the track at Oceania Regional Playoffs ‼️ Taking home third in Oceania 🥉

While our PBs may not have qualified for Global Championships this time around they all gave it everything they had and we are beyond proud of this team and everyone who supported us in this journey! ♥️🖤 Stay tuned for where the PBs go next 👀

This year’s NAIDOC Week theme, 50 Years of Deadly, celebrates five decades of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander strength, culture, leadership and community. It honours those who have come before, celebrates the strength of communities today, and reminds us that we honour the past by continuing the work.

At Brisbane City Rollers, we’re proud to share our track with some truly deadly Aboriginal members. Your leadership, culture, knowledge and generosity strengthen our club every week. Thank you for everything you bring to our community and for the opportunity to continue learning alongside you.

As a club, we believe celebrating NAIDOC Week is about more than acknowledgement. It’s about listening, creating space, building genuine relationships and taking meaningful action throughout the year.

Brisbane City Rollers is committed to developing our first Reconciliation Action Plan, helping guide how we continue to learn, strengthen relationships and build a more culturally safe and inclusive club for our members and the wider roller derby community.

We’re also proud to be hosting an Indigenous-led Cultural Exchange Weekend this December in partnership with Team Indigenous Roller Derby and Mana Tangata o Aotearoa. Through culture, conversation and roller derby, the weekend will create opportunities for sharing, learning and connection, while celebrating First Nations excellence and supporting Indigenous leadership within our sport.

These are important steps in our journey, but we know the work doesn’t stop here. Our commitment is to keep listening, keep learning and continue creating spaces where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are celebrated, supported and empowered to lead.

Happy NAIDOC Week.

Congratulations Resting Bitch Pace, our member of the month! 🖤❤️

Pace is an extremely dedicated member of BCR. She spends hours managing many roles within BCR. She does an exceptional job juggling our bookings, venues and calendar.

She is a dedicated and knowledgeable official, who always goes the extra mile to help support and organise our official team on scrim night. That seems like a lot, right? Yes, it does.

You will also catch Pace coaching and imparting her skills to our fundamentals and bringing her fearless brand of leadership to our Red Kennedy’s squad. Pace is a wonderful teammate, role model, a hard-working athlete and she is our July Member of the Month. ❤️🖤
