Billy Walters has expressed his desire to make a return, get back to his best, and play in another grand final.

Brisbane have sounded like a broken record in their claims they can still play finals this year, but there is nothing broken about the team they are set to name against Penrith.

State of Origin stars Patrick Carrigan, Payne Haas and Reece Walsh will all back in action for Thursday night's away clash with the Panthers, while halves duo Ezra Mam and Adam Reynolds both trained strongly on Monday and are also set to return from injury.

Lock forward Carrigan (ankle) has not played for the Broncos in what will be 46 days when he lines up against the competition leaders. 🐴

Kevin Walters has changed his view on who should be Australia's first-choice fullback. He said Reece Walsh is no longer the clear favourite, with Dylan Edwards and James Tedesco still in the race for the Kangaroos jersey.

Walters also said Walsh could be at a disadvantage because he is expected to miss the NRL finals through injury. He believes missing those important games could affect the selectors' decision.
