It is with profound sadness that Wilston Grange Softball Club shares the passing of our beloved Life Member, longtime leader and the heart and soul of our club, Alana Cutmore.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, August 14 at 2pm at Albany Creek Memorial Park.

It is difficult to put into words what Alana meant to Wilston Grange because, in so many ways, Alana was Wilston Grange.

For decades, she gave our club and the wider softball community an extraordinary amount of her time, knowledge, energy and love. Her experience and guidance were invaluable, and we will always be grateful for the privilege of learning from her, working alongside her and sharing so many years of softball with her.

For almost two decades, Alana coached and managed our men’s team. She was a constant and much-loved presence at Downey Park on Saturdays, playing for, leading and tirelessly supporting Wilston Grange. She was a fierce competitor on and off the diamond for the women’s teams. Her contribution extended far beyond our club through her service on the Brisbane Softball Association Board, where she helped shape the experiences of countless players and contributed immeasurably to the sport she loved.

Alana’s absence will be felt deeply throughout our club and across the wider softball community. We have lost a treasured friend, mentor and leader, but the impact she made and the community she helped build will remain a lasting part of Wilston Grange.

Our deepest love and condolences are with Toni, Carol, Alan and all of Alana’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

Alana was more than a teammate - she was the leader of our Wilston Grange family.
