FLUID Coaching in Youth Settings πŸ§ πŸ‹οΈβ€β™‚οΈ

In the world of youth aports.. there's often a debate about the best coaching methods.

Some favour structured drills, other dynamic systems, and many focus on creating a fun, engaging environment. But is there really just one way to coach?

Easy example here:

Pic 1:Fun motor learning gamified activity
Pic 2: Structured motor skill development

Same class..2 pics....2 segments...20min apart.
Had I posted one or the other pic only, assumptions on a way we coach would have been made.

πŸ“Έ Snapshot in Time: Too many people/coaches are quick to judge a coach from a single picture or video, often taken out of context. Remember, a photo captures just a moment, not the full scope of a coach's method or the variety of activities in a session.

πŸ”„ Fluid Approach: We believe in fluidity between structured and unstructured coaching. The right approach depends on the age group and reading the room. Structured learning is essential, but it must be introduced at the right time.

βš–οΈ Balanced Ratio: The balance between gamified learning and structured drills will vary. While fun activities are crucial for engagement, kids also need to learn skills relevant to their future athletic endeavors

πŸ’‘ Skill Development: Skills development often requires "boring" repetitive drills. Entertaining with fun activities is beneficial, but it can't be the only focus. At some point, structured learning becomes essential.

Let's embrace a balanced approach to coaching, ensuring our young athletes grow, learn, and enjoy their journey in sports! 🌟

🎊Congratulations to Daisy Mabin on winning silver at the U19 Australian Volleyball Junior Championships with the QLD representative team! πŸŽ‰
We've been honoured to support Daisy's athletic development since March, when her family approached us to help with her physical resilience (load management and overall strength) and performance.

Despite her demanding schedule as a grade 12 student at St Peters πŸ“šπŸ , Daisy consistently trained hard and balanced her commitments.

Her dedication has paid off, and this well-deserved success opens up exciting opportunities for her future, including a potential move to college in the US. Well done, Daisy! 🌟🏐

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ Think Rehab is Boring? Think again! πŸ‘Œ

At Athletix, our in-house elite physios, like Campbell, share the gym with our S&C coaches as soon as possible.
Also, they share ideas and exchange info about rehab clients, the latest research in both domains.
All this happens on a daily basis.

This seamless integration ensures the best care possible for everyone, not just athletes. With our high-performance team under one roof, we guarantee consistent, integrated support and no time wasted.
