Common myth: hypnotherapy is about someone 'making' you do something. Reality: it's a relaxed, focused state that helps you access the part of your mind where anxious patterns actually live — so you can change them at the root, not just manage the symptoms.

Anxiety isn't a character flaw — it's your nervous system trying to protect you from something. The problem is, it often keeps protecting you long after the danger has passed. That's where we come in: we help you find what's really driving it, so you can finally feel safe again. 📍 Spring Hill & Samford Village, plus online sessions. hypnotherapyqueensland.com

# # # Finish This Sentence...
We all have times when eating has nothing to do with hunger.
**I find it hardest to eat well when I'm...**
💬 Stressed
💬 Tired
💬 Busy
💬 Feeling emotional
💬 Around certain people
💬 Something else...
There are no right or wrong answers.
Understanding **what triggers us** is often the first step towards creating lasting change.

# # # It's Not About the Diet
Most diets tell you **what** to eat.
Very few help you understand **why** you eat.
If food has become your way of coping with stress, anxiety, loneliness or emotional overwhelm, changing your meal plan alone may not create lasting change.
Many unwanted eating habits are actually emotional coping strategies that have developed over time.
When we understand what's happening beneath the surface, it becomes much easier to create healthier habits that last.
**Understanding the Cause. Creating Lasting Change.**

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is helping people realise they don't need to blame themselves.
Many unwanted behaviours—including emotional eating—are often attempts to cope with difficult emotions.
When we understand the underlying patterns, meaningful and lasting change becomes much more achievable.

Why Willpower Isn't the Whole Answer
Many people believe they fail at dieting because they don't have enough willpower.
In reality, willpower often isn't the problem.
If eating has become a way of coping with stress, anxiety or difficult emotions, simply trying harder usually doesn't create lasting change.
Understanding why you eat can be just as important as deciding what to eat.
Lasting change often begins beneath the surface.

Why does stress affect appetite?
When we're under pressure, our bodies release stress hormones that can increase cravings for comfort foods.
For many people, eating becomes a way of finding temporary relief from stress, even when they aren't physically hungry.
Learning to recognise emotional hunger is the first step towards creating healthier habits.

One of the common patterns I notice when working with clients is that emotional eating is rarely about food itself.
More often, it's about trying to soothe stress, overwhelm or difficult emotions.
When we understand what's driving the behaviour beneath the surface, change becomes much more sustainable.
