πŸ’ƒ Hip hop foundations and dance skills

πŸŽ‰ WE’RE FINALISTS! πŸŽ‰

Six years ago, when my daughter started Prep, I took a leap and created MINT KIDS HIPHOP 🫢

After years of teaching competitive hip hop teams, I wanted to create something a little different β€” a relaxed, welcoming space where kids could simply have fun, build confidence, express their individuality and learn some really cool dance moves along the way. πŸ’š

What started as a way for me to continue doing something I love, while teaching my own kids, their friends and children in our local community, has grown into something incredibly special to me.

To everyone who has danced with us, brought their kids along, watched from the sidelines, entertained little siblings while classes are happening, recommended us to friends or simply supported us over the past six years β€” thank you. πŸ₯°

And now, Mint Kids Hip Hop is a finalist in the 2026 Bulimba Electorate Small Business Awards!πŸ†

If you believe we’ve created something special for your kids and our community, we would be incredibly grateful for your vote. There’s absolutely no pressure β€” just being part of our Mint Kids community already means so much to me.

✨ Be Curious. Be Kind. ✨

The questions we teach our kids to ask matter.

When curiosity is guided by respect, it becomes a bridge β€” helping children understand, appreciate, and celebrate different cultures in a safe and thoughtful way. πŸ’›

Let’s create spaces where kids feel confident to ask, listen, and learn… without judgement.

Because kindness + curiosity = connection. 🌏

Save this for your classroom, your studio, or your home 🫢

Move With Nicole 26/03/2026

Hi Fam,

I'm currently in the middle of a course about cultural and child safety, and I'm diving into the physical safeguarding section of it at the moment, where it talks about the benefits of cross-training for children.

So, I'm thinking about how cross-training can really benefit kids, like doing a range of different activities such as soccer, dance, swimming, gymnastics, cricket or netball instead of just focusing on one.

For me, as a dancer, I've found that Pilates and Yoga have been really helpful. I'd like to share a couple of channels that I've found useful, that the kids could do at home on days when they don't have dance or other activities. Maybe you could even try them too!

One of our talented students, Sipora, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in March 2025, just before her 7th birthday. She's now dependent on insulin for life.

Her dad is participating in the Redlands Walk to Breakthrough T1D on March 8th to raise money and support Sipora. Sipora's story is one of strength and resilience - she needs insulin with every meal, counts carbs, and wears life-saving devices 24/7.

Let's support Sipora and others living with Type 1 Diabetes.

Harmony Amidst Destruction 21/01/2026

Hey Mint Family 🌟

We've got some awesome news to share! Our break dance teachers, Roger and Ralph, have created and are part of an incredible dance-theatre performance called "Harmony Amidst Destruction".

Here's what they have to say about the show:

"Harmony Amidst Destruction is an evocative fusion of movement and music that brings a remarkable true story to the stage. A powerful dance-theatre performance born from the ashes of the Beirut Port explosion, Harmony Amidst Destruction fuses breaking, live music, and raw emotion to explore resilience, loss, and rebirth. Performed by Middle Eastern artists Roj and Ralph Kabalan, the work transforms pain into beauty. Revealing how art becomes a lifeline amid chaos. Through explosive movement and haunting soundscapes, the piece invites audiences on a deeply human journey of destruction and hope."

We're super proud of Roj and Ralph's hard work and creativity. If you're interested in coming to the show, here is a link with more information about the Brisbane show and also where you can purchase your tickets πŸ‘‡
