Every now and then one of your old kids taps you on the shoulder and says, "Got time for a hit?" For this kid, the answer will always be yes! Loved spending some time at the park with LJ today. Still one of my favourite athletes I've ever had the privilege to coach and an even better person. From junior softball to Australian squads, it's been an absolute pleasure watching the journey. Keep chasing it, LJ. Proud of you always. 🧡🥎💙

PJ started this one exactly how he planned... not smiling 😂 Brother Will has clearly seen this act before! 😂 Another great session with the brothers, and this time we were joined by Josh. The boys had some great swings today, worked hard, and took every tip on board. What I love to see 👊🏻. One of the best parts of coaching is watching kids play a game and then turn up to training wanting more. It shows how much the sport means to them and how determined they are to keep improving. Keep up the great work, boys 👏🥎

As somebody who wasn't exactly known for their slapping (mainly because I never did it 😂), I found myself working with a young slapper tonight. What made the session extra special was that the athlete is the great niece of a very dear old softball friend of mine—someone I've shared countless teams, games and memories with over many years in our sport. We spent time working on slapping, hand path, timing and footwork. The footwork is still a work in progress, as the photos and videos clearly show, but that's the beauty of modern coaching. Having a camera and video on an iPhone means we can instantly see what's happening, review it together and make adjustments on the spot. The best part is that is Piper is an absolute sponge. She genuinely wants to learn, asks questions, listens, applies feedback and then wants to see the video so she can understand what she's feeling compared to what she's actually doing. We even experimented with a little obstacle-tee drill to help reinforce staying inside the ball and prevent casting the hands. Sometimes the ideas you come up with on the drive to training end up being the ones that click. There's still some polishing to do with the slapping mechanics and footwork, but with an already very solid hitting game and a fantastic attitude towards learning, I have no doubt she'll continue to develop into a genuine dual threat in the batter's box. One thing I know for sure—when a young athlete is this coachable, improvement usually comes pretty quickly. 🥎💪

The kids absolutely love it when MayMay helps coach at our clinics… and to be honest, so do I! She can demonstrate everything much faster than I ever could. Oh, to be young again! 😄
I’m so excited for you Amaya as you head off on your very first overseas trip representing Australia. 🇦🇺When Amaya earned selection in the Australian U18 team, COVID meant she missed out on the international opportunities that should have come with it, so this trip is extra special.

Today we wish MayMay all the very best as she heads to Japan to represent Australia in the Futures Tournament! What an incredible achievement and a testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment MayMay has shown both on and off the diamond. Adding to the pride is the unwavering support behind her, with Mum(Tippy), our President, and Dad (Dave), our A1 Coach, there to see her off on this exciting journey. The entire Panthers family will be cheering MayMay on from home as she wears the green and gold with pride. We know she'll be a fantastic ambassador for Australian softball and our club.

One of the hard parts about softball… sometimes the weather wins 🌧️🥎
Yesterday I was packed and on the move to head north to Hervey Bay 🚘 , but with the grounds too wet and more rain forecast, the decision was made to cancel my planned sessions.
Because of that, the free clinic planned for this afternoon also won’t be able to go ahead 😩
I was really looking forward to the chance to work with our regional athletes, so I’m really disappointed to miss this one. Thank you to everyone who was keen to come along.
I’ll be organising another trip back around August/September, so we’ll make it happen soon 💙🥎🧡
Until then keep working hard and if you want any tips or support, I’m always just a message away ☺️

Hi everyone,
It’s come to my attention that a District Association make-up day has been scheduled on Saturday 25 July, which is the same day as our DFM clinic.
As you can imagine, this may impact player availability and whether we can run the clinic as planned. I’ve already locked in multiple coaches and put a lot of planning into the day, so I just need to get a clear picture of numbers ASAP.
Could you please send me a private message to let me know whether your child will still be able to attend? If numbers are too low, I need to make a decision about cancelling. In that case, I will arrange refunds as needed.
I appreciate your quick response so I can make a decision sooner rather than later.

How lucky are we?
You get coached by someone who is competing at the highest level of softball in the world, who has hit 70 home runs in one of the toughest competitions on the planet — Japan’s JD League… and still gives up her time to come home and coach you. That doesn’t happen everywhere. Stacey brings experience, professionalism, and a standard that most players only ever dream of being around — and she chooses to share that with you. So take it in, learn from it, and appreciate the opportunity in front of you. I remember to say thanks when you see her. ☺️ because wedon’t just have a great coach…we have one of the best in the game!

I am really excited to be leading this team. The young girls in this team (and the full squad) are an absolute delight, and my dream is for all of them to have many more fun (and rep) times ahead of them in the softball journey! I hope to play a positive part in their future ☺️
