LPCC GRAND FINAL EVE SOCIAL FUNCTION!

The Lower Plenty Cricket Club is hosting a function on the Grand Final Public Holiday.

FRIDAY 25TH OF SEPTEMBER running from 5 PM - 10 PM.

There will be a BBQ Available as well as Raffles during the night with a Darts Competition.

Come down to enjoy some Music and the Night Races!

Drinks will be available at Bar Prices.

Two Captains stand down

A massive thanks to two Lower Plenty captains who are standing down from captaincy duties this season.

Ian ‘Chess” Chesser captained the 4s and 5s for 100 games. He’s led from the front winning 4 batting awards and a bowling award while at the helm.

No doubt the biggest legacy he leaves is the countless young players he’s set on the path to higher cricket and the impact he’s had on team culture. He’s been a guiding light for how to play our great game in the right spirit.

Chess is keen to play on and add to his 214 games, 3820 runs and the many bowlers he’s deposited over cow corner.

Alex ‘Taco’ Tsardakis captained the 3s for two seasons, leading the team to a flag, a promotion into D grade and a semi-final appearance.

Another batter who put the team on his shoulders, he punched out 858 runs at a stunning 50.47 while captaining the team.

His team-mates describe ‘Taco as a competitive dude’ with a fire in the belly who put everything he had into the team. He knows what it takes to strive for victory but to also play fair.

We look forward to him and his thunderous cut shot playing many more games for the Leopards.

It takes a lot to captain a team. From the on-field tactics to bringing the cordial, there’s a myriad of tasks. Thank you so much Chess and Taco for everything you’ve done for the Lower Plenty Leopards

VALE - Gary Pearce

It is with a heavy heart that the club has been informed of the passing of Nick Pearce’s father Gary yesterday, following his battle with cancer.

We extend our deepest condolences to Nick and the entire Pearce family during this incredibly difficult time.

With the 2026/27 season just around the corner we have a team for all ages and experience levels at Lower Plenty.

We pride ourselves on providing a strong emphasis and commitment to our Junior Program.

All new players to the club receive a free playing shirt.
