π₯ How do you know the rank of a Karate Black Belt? π€
At Karate Academy, humility is an important factor when training, so obvious displays of rank and titles are rare. However, there are subtle signs to help.
π ε = Shodan & Nidan | First & Second Degree
π΄ε = Sandan & Yondan | Third & Fourth Degree
βͺοΈε = Godan and above | Fifth Degree and above
Many black belts still wear their first belt as after years of wearing it tends to be the most comfortable. So if you're not sure it's always okay to ask π

Resilience is the key that unlocks the doors to greatness
As an instructor, I often witness the eagerness in
students to fast-track through the ranks.
It's understandable; the journey is thrilling, and the desire for mastery is commendable. However, you also often hear along that journey "this is too hard", and "when can I get my next belt?"
In the pursuit of progress, we must embrace and enjoy
the process. Each belt signifies a phase of growth, a step
in the evolution towards mastery.
It's during the difficult times when you feel frustrated and
want to quit which is when you become a better and
stronger version of yourself.
Patience, perseverance, and resilience are the keys to
unlocking the full potential of martial arts.
Then your strength is held within you, not the colour of
your belt.
So, don't wish for challenges to be easy, become stronger
than your challenges
