Dive and Dive

Dear Divers,

On behalf of Aquaholics Club Inc. regarding a rapid-response marine conservation activity taking place at Mentone this Saturday, 29 August.

Over the past few weeks, a significant aggregation of Northern Pacific Seastars (Asterias amurensis) has been building at Mentone. We want to mobilise the local diving community to help manage the aggregation while it is concentrated, before it disperses further through the area.

To take part in a coordinated Northern Pacific Seastar removal activity.

Saturday 29 August – Mentone
Time: 9am meet, likely 10:30am splash once everything is organised
Meeting point: Out on the beach in front of Mentone Lifesaving Club
Activity: Targeted Northern Pacific Seastar collection/removal
Who can participate: Divers, freedivers, snorkellers & shore support
