Winter Builds Summer Confidence 💙

Thank you to every family who has kept swimming this winter.

The confidence children show around water in summer isn't built in summer, it's built through every lesson in winter.

Your commitment today is helping create safer, stronger and more confident swimmers tomorrow.

💙 One last Parent Tip for August

After your next lesson, ask your child:
"What are you most proud of today?"

It's a simple question that helps children reflect on what they've learnt and celebrate their progress.

Thank you for being part of the Surrey Park Swimming community.

Progress Looks Different 💙

Progress isn't always a new level.

Sometimes it's:
💙 Swimming independently.
💙 Putting their face in the water.
💙 Walking into lessons with confidence.

Every child learns at their own pace, and every step forward is worth celebrating.
At Surrey Park Swimming, we celebrate progress in all its forms because that's how confident swimmers are built.

Welcome to Episode 1 of our Learn to Swim FAQs!

Does school swimming mean your child doesn’t need weekly lessons?

Not quite. School swimming and weekly lessons play different roles, and together they help children build, practise and retain their skills.

10/08/2026

Trust the Process.
“Why is my child still practising the same skill?”
If you’ve ever wondered this, you’re not alone. We hear it all the time.

The answer is actually quite simple.
Children don’t become confident swimmers by doing something once.
They become confident by practising until the skill feels natural.
Whether it’s floating, kicking, breathing or getting back to the pool edge, every activity has a purpose.

Each lesson builds on the last, helping children develop skills they’ll use whenever they’re around water.
Read more in this month’s article: https://surreypark.org.au/news/

You’ll be surprised what they remember from their lesson.
Has your child recently achieved something that made them smile?
