Next Lever Action Day is Sunday 27th September 2026 and we will shoot one of the 'Course of Fire' for the 2026 National Lever Action Championship which is being held in Canberra in October. This is a 3 day competition with 'National Rimfire Match', National Centrefire Match, and 'National Classic Calibre Match' followed by 'National Teams Match'.

Sunday 23rd August 2026 Lever Action

On Sunday we will be shooting the Course of Fire for the '2026 Qld State Lever Action Championships' Classic Calibre Class.

This is paper targets shot at 100m, 50m and 25 metres in different field positions. Shot with a lever action rifle as issued in any centrefire cartridge produced up to 1938 with traditional open sights. This will be a practice run for those who are going to the Qld shoot.
If you want to come and have a go this Sunday, you can shoot any lever action you have, open sights, peep sights and any calibre for a bit of fun.

The range will be available for general shooting/sighting in if you don't want to shoot the match.

We had 5 shooters competing in the Rimfire Match and 3 in the Centrefire Match.

1st targets shot at 25 metres Off Hand/Rapid Fire, 3 shots in 15 seconds shot twice at one target than again at the 2nd target. You score your 5 best shots on each target.

Three shooters from Bowen club competed in Rockhampton today at their Cowboy Action Shooting Competition. The competition took place over 6 stages. Nick 13 (Dave), placed first with Missy D (Alex) and Two Gun Kate (Barb) placing 10th and 11th.
