Yesterday was the "Celebration of Life" ceremony for Jeep Jamboree founder Mark A. Smith. A special "Thank You" to Jeep for developing & donating the Mark A. Smith Special Edition Jeep Wrangler to the El Dorado County Sheriff's department for patrolling the Rubicon Trail. Thank you to all of speakers - Eddie Keller, Senator Ted Gaines, Perry King, Rick Pewe & Tyler Ruby.

Today Jeep Jamboree USA mourns the lost of a true off-road icon and founder of Jeep Jamboree USA, Mark A. Smith. Mark started the sport of "Jeeping" back in 1953 with the first-ever organized Jeep trip on the Rubicon Trail. Mark’s spirit of adventure lead him to create and conquer the longest overland 4WD journey in history, the Expedicion de las Americas. Mark was an inspiration to many and believed "If you have a dream, make sure you pursue it". Mark's legacy will be continued through the Jeep Jamboree USA program…he will be missed by many.
