Last week, Emily and Barbara proudly represented 8 Limbs Gym and Australia at the WBC Games and Amazing MuayThai Festival in Bangkok with coach Alex on their side. The tournament brought together over 1,000 athletes from around the world and began with a spectacular opening ceremony at the iconic Rajadamnern Stadium.

Barbara was first to step into the ring, facing Scotland’s reigning gold medallist from last year and a much more experienced opponent. She delivered a brave and technical performance, pushing her opponent all the way before narrowly losing on points.

Emily then had an outstanding tournament, defeating France with a convincing performance before backing it up with another solid win over the USA. Unfortunately, she suffered a leg injury but showed incredible determination by continuing to compete. In the semifinals, she once again faced the USA and, despite picking up the fight at the end, she fell just short on points.

We return home with a bronze medal, but more importantly with valuable experience and memories. We couldn’t be prouder of the way Emily and Barbara represented 8 Limbs Gym and Australia on the world stage. It was also an honour to share this experience with such an amazing Australian team. Congratulations to everyone involved.
