It’s with great sadness that I share the news that last week, our studio lost one of our most adored members, Mollie Lenthall.

Mollie (or Molzo) and I teamed up in the early 2000s and have been training together twice a week ever since. It took me over an hour on the phone during our very first conversation to convince her that training with a PT was a good idea. After 25 years together, I think I finally convinced her.

Molzo was the ultimate inspiration. Not just because she trained well into her 90s, but because she was an independent, determined, successful, empathetic, thoughtful and strong woman. She brightened every room she entered with her smile, her stories and her warmth. She lived all her 93 years to the fullest.

Molzo and I started our training journey in Centennial Par, running, skipping, balancing and lifting together. She never quite mastered the art of exercising while talking, but we still managed to get plenty of good reps under her belt.

While many decades separated us, she was a true friend and leaves a huge hole in my heart.

You weren’t on social media while you were alive, Molzo, but in case you are now, thank you for your dear friendship. I’m welling up as I type this. Thank you for your love and fondness for my children, and for the beautiful gifts you gave them over the years. Thank you for your unwavering support through births, deaths, marriages and break-ups.

While I’ll never replace the wisdom you brought to my life, I will be forever grateful for the time we spent together. Your friendship made my life better.

Rest peacefully, Molzo. You will be deeply missed. Damien and the entire gym family.
