🚨 Sharks commit to the build 🚨
Bonbeach is building and under coach Jamie Mollo and the leadership group our young brigade continues to thrive. This time it's one of the clubs greatest ever players signing on, Shane McDonald.
🦈RECOMMITTED FOR 2027 – SHANE MCDONALD
The club is incredibly excited to announce that Shane “Macca” McDonald will play on in 2027, while also taking on an Assistant Coaching role with a focus on developing our exciting young playing list.
With 300 senior games for the Sharks, there isn’t much Macca hasn’t experienced in the red and black and white. Now, as we continue to build the next generation at Shark Park, his knowledge, leadership and football experience will become an even greater asset to our young group.
Having someone of Shane’s calibre working closely with our emerging players is an enormous opportunity. His understanding of the game, preparation and what it takes to perform consistently at senior level will be invaluable as we continue to develop the talented young Sharks coming through.
But make no mistake, Macca still has plenty to give on the field himself.
His passion for the game remains as strong as ever, and after reaching the incredible 300-game milestone in 2026, Shane is excited by what is building at Bonbeach and wants to be part of where this group can go.
300 games and counting. Player. Leader. Mentor. Shark.
The journey continues in 2027.
