WHAT A SEASON FROM OUR U19s 🐬
Sunday brought our U19s’ 2026 season to an end, going down 30–16 to a very strong Noosa side in the Preliminary Final.
It wasn’t the ending we had hoped for, but one result certainly doesn’t define the season these young men have had.
Our boys spent the year consistently in and around the top two, played some outstanding rugby league and thoroughly earned their place in the Preliminary Final. There is so much for this group to be proud of.
One of the biggest successes of the year has been watching these young men develop and take the next step in their rugby league journey. A number of our U19s stepped up throughout the season to play Reserve Grade and A Grade, gaining valuable experience and showing they are more than capable of playing senior football.
For some, that journey will continue through our senior grades at Kawana, and for others we hope rugby league takes you to even higher levels. Wherever your football takes you, we will be incredibly proud to have played a part in your journey and to have watched you develop in a Kawana Dolphins jersey.
Finals footy is a different beast. The intensity rises, the pressure increases and every opportunity matters. We went into Sunday’s game with a few players unavailable through injury in key positions, but the boys who took the field stepped up, competed and gave everything they had for the jersey.
Ultimately, we came up against a very strong Noosa side who were better on the day. Congratulations to Noosa and all the best for the Grand Final.
To our boys — hold your heads high. One result doesn’t take away from the season you’ve had or everything you achieved together.
A massive thank you to Jamie and Anthony for the time, commitment, guidance and belief you have put into this group throughout the year. Coaching U19s is about much more than winning football games. It’s about developing young players, helping them grow and preparing them for whatever comes next in their rugby league journey.
A very special thank you to Ash, our team manager, for everything you have done to keep this team organised and supported throughout the season.
Ash has also been part of our FAO team alongside Kylie, Adam and Aiden. To all four of you, thank you for the care, time and commitment you have given our players throughout the year. Having people there to look after our players every week is an incredibly important part of our game, and we appreciate everything you do.
To Anthony and Joel, our League Safes throughout the season, thank you for being there week after week and giving your time to support this team.
These roles behind the scenes don’t always receive the recognition they deserve, but a rugby league team simply doesn’t function without the people who turn up every week and give their time to our players and our club.
We also want to give a very special mention to the U17 boys from Kawana Juniors who stepped up throughout the year to play with our U19s when needed.
Taking that step up and playing alongside older players is a challenge, and you should be incredibly proud of the way you handled yourselves and contributed to this team.
For some of you, we look forward to welcoming you into the Seniors and watching the next chapter of your rugby league journey. Whether that journey keeps you at Kawana or gives you opportunities to progress to higher levels of the game, keep working hard and keep chasing those opportunities.
To all our parents, families, volunteers and supporters who have been there week after week — thank you for backing these young men and the Kawana Dolphins throughout the season.
As a club, we are incredibly proud of this entire group and the way they have represented the Kawana Dolphins throughout 2026.
For some of our U19s, this was your final season in this age group. Whether your next step is Reserve Grade, A Grade or an opportunity at a higher level, keep working hard, keep believing in yourselves and take every opportunity that comes your way.
We hope to see many of you continue wearing the Kawana Dolphins jersey — and if rugby league takes you further, know that your Kawana family will be proudly watching and cheering you on.
