In all Indigenous and wisdom traditions the world over, chanting has always been a sacred yet accessible group practice.

And in these turbulent times, as war, violence, and uncertainty touch so many lives, chanting becomes a powerful act of compassion and prayer for peace in the world. 🌏📿

By turning inwards, holding in our hearts all who suffer, we can offer a heartfelt prayer for healing.

There is a much greater value to meditation that people often miss. Meditation is a practice and invitation to meet ourselves more fully, and more honestly. We meditate to discover who we are, beyond who we think we are. 🌿💚

"I don't know if I can do this," she said.

The leader across from me this morning was moments away from implementing the next phase of a management strategy she'd created with thoughtful care and consideration. Now self-doubt was pouring out of her.

I let a pause settle. Then offered three words: "Doubt the doubt."

She looked up. Please explain.

That doubt isn't your better judgment talking. It's your nervous system sounding the alarm - sending you into fight, flight, freeze or fawn. It hijacks the clarity you had when you created your strategy, back when you were thinking slowly and clearly.

You want to think your way through it. That's the trap. Don't try to work the doubt out. That just keeps you spinning in the very mental fog you need to see through.

Instead, breathe. 💫

Longer out than in. Give your nervous system the signal that it's safe to stand down. Let the thoughts race past without chasing them. Then, when you're calmer, return to the decision with fresh eyes.

When we doubt the doubt - rather than act it out - we free ourselves to choose again. With repeated practice, we can free ourselves from fear's incessant grip.

I'm not above this myself. Self-doubt still shows up for me, pretending to be wisdom. Mostly, it's just an outdated script. And these days, I can choose not to make it into a screen play.

Never underestimate what one moment of mindful self-awareness does for your capacity to lead.

Freedom happens when we can simply let disturbances come up, and let them go. We don’t need anything to be different. There is great freedom in allowing - in witnessing and feeling what moves through us, without claiming it as ‘me’. May you know who you are, and who you are not. And be kind to yourself in that ongoing process.🙏🩵

To these 10 beautiful women, a heartfelt thank you. 💖 Thank you for showing up in all your vulnerability, curiosity, compassion and wisdom.

Our Wise Body, Radiant Mind, Open Heart ~ Menopause Yoga Day Retreat was an unforgettable day.

Coming together to share our menopause journey - and to lean into both our individual and collective beauty and wisdom - was so needed and really special.

Menopause is not just about symptoms to manage. It is a rite-of-passage to claim, to honour and to trust in who we are becoming. 🌿

As one participant wrote:

“We are everywhere – fluid, real, intuitive, kind, ruthless and beautiful beyond what you can see. I see the women around me, in the circle we make. They see me too, we connect for one Om, hand to hand, heart to heart, finally we un-break the circle we un-f**k the silence, we untie ourselves from that which made us heavy. I feel the openness in my chest, a treasure chest of wonders, jewels of wisdom and kindness. It seems my body really has this sorted – for there is nothing in there that doesn’t serve me well.”

These pictures tell some of the retreat story. Yet the real magic cannot be captured, only experienced.

Thank you wonderful women. Blessings for your onward path.

💖💛💕🙏💕💛💖

My next Menopause Day Retreat is scheduled for Sunday 22 November. 12 places only. Bookings now open. 🔗 Link in bio.

Rest in peace and love Dolly Parton. 🤍

I grew up listening to her music, movies, stories and infectious laugh. She’s been an inspiration and female role model in so many of our lives. So much so that these words of hers were a homepage quote on Momentum’s first website. Celebrating Dolly’s beauty, wisdom and legacy.

Find out who you are and do it on purpose. 🫶

Perimenopause and menopause isn’t an illness to fix or medicate. Rather, it’s a rite of passage. It calls us to listen deeply to our needs, to honour our yearnings. And to attune to the wisdom of our body. 🪷
