πŸ’™πŸ€ Round 19 Wrap-Up πŸ€πŸ’™

Round 19 certainly threw everything at us, wind, rain and sunshine, sometimes all within the space of one game! Despite the unpredictable conditions, our Wickers delivered some fantastic netball, with great intensity, determination and plenty of hard-fought contests across the day.

A huge congratulations to this week’s Best on Court recipients, who stood tall for their teams and produced some outstanding individual performances. Your effort, composure and commitment did not go unnoticed, and each award was thoroughly deserved.

Well done to every player who took the court and proudly represented the navy blue and white. One round to go, Wickers, let’s finish the home-and-away season strongly! πŸ’ͺπŸΌπŸ’™πŸ€

πŸ’™πŸ€ 2026 BERWICK NETBALL CLUB AWARD NOMINATIONS ARE NOW OPEN πŸ€πŸ’™

As another outdoor season begins to draw to a close, it’s time to recognise the incredible people who make Berwick Netball Club what it is.

Our club is so much more than what happens on court each Saturday. It’s the players who lead by example, the coaches who give their time and knowledge, the umpires who support our game, the volunteers who are always there when something needs doing, and the people who quietly give so much of themselves to our Wickers community.

We’re asking our members to have their say and nominate the people they believe deserve recognition in our 2026 Club Awards:

πŸ† Junior Club Person of the Year
πŸ† Senior Club Person of the Year
πŸ† Overall Club Person of the Year
πŸ† Senior MVP
πŸ† Junior MVP
πŸ† Emma Clarke Spirit Award
πŸ† Thank God You’re Here Award
πŸ† Best Umpire Award
πŸ† Best Coach Award

When nominating, please take the time to tell us why you’ve chosen that person. It doesn’t need to be an essay, we just want to hear what they’ve contributed and what makes them deserving of the award.

πŸ’™ Nominations close COB Saturday 12 September at 9:00pm.

This is your opportunity to recognise the Wickers who have made a difference to you, your team or our club throughout 2026.

Some of the most deserving people are often the ones who never expect recognition, so please take a few minutes to make sure they receive it.

One Club. One Community. One Wickers Family. πŸ’™πŸ€

πŸ’™πŸ€ BATTLE OF THE CREEK | OPPOSITION BEST ON COURT πŸ€πŸ’™

One of our favourite parts of the Battle of the Creek is recognising the players who stood out through the eyes of the opposition.

Across each of our 10 games, the Beaconsfield coach/team selected the Wicker they believed had the biggest impact on the court and we love this recognition because it comes from the people playing and coaching against them.

These awards aren’t just about goals scored, intercepts taken or statistics. They recognise the players whose work rate, skill, pressure, sportsmanship and presence were noticed from the other side of the court.

A huge congratulations to all of our Battle of the Creek Opposition Best on Court winners. To be recognised by your opposition is something pretty special, and each of you should be incredibly proud of the way you represented the navy blue and white. πŸ’™πŸ€

With the Wickers taking the overall Battle 7 games to 3, it was another fantastic day between our two clubs and a great way to finish our 2026 Battle of the Creek contests.

Congratulations, Wickers! πŸπŸ’™

πŸ’™πŸ€ BATTLE OF THE CREEK β€” THE WICKERS DO THE DOUBLE! πŸ€πŸ’™

The 2026 Battle of the Creek is officially ours! πŸ†

After taking out the first Battle of the Creek with 6 wins from 10 games, our Wickers backed it up in Round 2, going one better with 7 wins from 10.

That means Berwick takes the overall Battle of the Creek honours in BOTH rounds this season , a fantastic result across our whole club. πŸ’™πŸ€

Beacy claimed the A Grade honours in both battles, and while we would have loved to get that one back this time, we couldn’t be prouder of the heart our A Grade girls showed on Saturday.

Taking on a full-strength Beacy side with limited numbers and only one recognised goaler available was always going to be a huge ask. When we needed someone to step up, our midcourter Holly jumped into GA to help her team, and the girls simply got on with it.

They never dropped their heads, never stopped competing and, most importantly, never stopped playing for each other.

Sometimes a performance can say far more about a team than the final score, and this was one of those days. So much heart and Wickers pride from this group. πŸ’™

That same pride was on display right across the club, with our teams fighting hard and playing for each other all day.

Battle 1: Wickers 6–4 πŸ†
Battle 2: Wickers 7–3 πŸ†

Two Battles. Two overall wins. 13 wins from 20 games.

A huge congratulations to all of our Wickers and to Beacy for another great Battle of the Creek.

The Battle belongs to the Wickers in 2026. πŸ’™πŸ€πŸ†
