**RACE REPORT 30th AUGUST CLUB DAY**
Another early morning start and the promise of a fine, sunny Sunday drew racers from Melbourne to enjoy the clean country air. With the Superstock Bendigo Classic only a month away, the faster classes were nearing capacity and delivered some great racing throughout the day.
Kyosho
With seven entries, this class is always highly competitive.
Q1
Stu was first to get away and held the lead from start to finish. Simon and Darren traded positions throughout the race, with Simon getting the better of Darren on Lap 4 to secure second place.
Q2
An early error from Stu handed Simon the lead and a clean run to victory, earning him TQ. Stu recovered well, passing Darren on Lap 7 to finish second.
A1
Simon made full use of his front-row starting position and put together a solid run, leading from start to finish. Second place appeared sewn up, but a late mistake from Stu allowed Darren through with two laps remaining to claim second, leaving Stu to settle for third.
A2
The race finished exactly as it started, with Simon once again proving strong from the front to take the win ahead of Stu and Darren. Bernie drove a consistent race to finish fourth, followed by Seb in fifth.
A3
With the overall class win already decided, Simon completed a clean sweep, although not without a challenge. After dropping back to second on the opening lap, he had to battle Stu to regain the lead. On Lap 13, Darren moved into second place, with Stu finishing third.

Mini
It was great to see two Minis on track getting valuable practice ahead of the Classic.
Simon and Nash both steered these little machines around the circuit, with Simon getting the better of Nash over the day in some entertaining racing.

With nine entries, this class was always going to be competitive and entertaining to watch.
Q1
After Lap 1, Gerry hit the ground running but became involved in contact with another competitor, dropping him to the back of the field. This handed the lead to Chang, who drove a consistent race to finish nine seconds ahead of Sam, with Garry completing the top three.
Q2
Jamie started strongly from the midfield and took the lead within the opening laps. However, Chang soon found his groove, taking another impressive win and securing TQ. Garry dropped back to fifth early before fighting through the field to finish second, with Sam bringing home third.
A1
Sam got away quickly and led the early stages. On Lap 8, Chang passed him and stayed there until the finish. After an up-and-down start, Darren was able to take third place from Garry.
A2
Chang again started strongly, but with Gerry back in contention, he had plenty of pressure. Gerry took the lead on Lap 9 but ultimately came up a few laps short, allowing Chang to take the win. Sam produced another solid drive for second, while Garry finished third.
A3
It wouldn't be a Bendigo race meeting if Chang went home with an intact car. Four laps into the race he was forced to retire with a steering issue. Gerry worked his way through the field to take the win, with Sam and Garry rounding out the top three.

A strong line-up of eight drivers saw the locals challenged by several fast visitors.
Q1
Scott looked quick, trading fast laps with Jordan throughout the race. Jordan eventually opened a gap on Lap 15 and finished three seconds ahead of Scott. Chris rounded out the top three with a solid run.
Q2
Jordan again showed impressive pace, posting 98.17% consistency to secure TQ ahead of Scott in second and Justin in third.
A1
The visitors dominated the top of the charts, with Jordan continuing to impress and recording the first 14-second lap of the day in the class. Justin finished nine seconds behind, followed by Cooper in third.
A2
Jordan again exploded out of the gates before mounting a curb and dislodging his battery. Despite losing nearly a lap, he fought back to finish third. This handed Scott the lead and the win, as he successfully held off a fast-finishing Justin for second.
A3
Once again, the visitors filled the top three positions. Jordan demonstrated his pace, finishing 12 seconds ahead of Justin, with Cooper taking third after Scott was forced to retire with mechanical issues.

Modified
With one of the biggest club-day fields seen in some time with 7 entries, it was set to be a fantastic day of racing.
Q1
There were multiple lead changes throughout the race. Cooper became tangled in a heavy crash that ultimately ended his day on Lap 9, while Jack picked up a rock and stripped a spur gear after showing strong early speed. This left Sandy and Brendan to fight it out for the win, with Sandy taking line honours by two seconds. Brad, driving the new ARC chassis, came home in third.
Q2
Sandy led from the start and never looked back. The "sexy man of RC" was too strong, finishing ahead of Brad and Brendan to secure TQ for the finals.
A1
The opening final saw a close battle between Sandy, Brad, and Jack, who traded positions throughout the race. On Lap 9, an incident dropped Brad to the back of the field, leaving Sandy and Jack to battle for victory. Sandy crossed the line just one second ahead of Jack, while Karl rounded out the top three.
A2
Sandy again pulled away at the start and remained unchallenged, taking the win by six seconds. Brad and Jack battled hard for second until an error sent Jack to the back of the field, allowing Karl to come through for third.
A3
Sandy once again showcased his class and years of experience, leading from start to finish. Brad put together an excellent run with 98.13% consistency, while only four drivers were able to reach the finish. Jack the finishing 3rd on track positon.
