Sunshine aplenty in Race 12

In the most amazing weather for running, brilliant sunshine and the smell of fresh horse poo greeted all runners for the Children’s 1km race held at Mandurang South Pony Club yesterday.

12 runners galloped around the course, with five new runners joining in the fun. In fact, the trifecta went to all new runners with Maverick Dempsey taking the win, Charlie Rofe second and Stanley Robertson third with only five seconds separating the trio. Close behind and in a scintillating run was Pippa Coleman with Luca Meyer fifth ahead and Pia Meyer sixth. Seventh was Frank Hoctor just edging out Peter Curtis. Further back was Thea Robertson in ninth, Percy Curtis in tenth place, with Harper Aitkens and Zoe Dempsey rounding out the field.

Next week is a break as we allow all Dad’s to have a break, before we are back for the final race of the season, Sunday 13th September at Woodvale Recreation Reserve. More details to come on this race.
