Corey Larson has enjoyed an impressive start to the year, with strong results at state, national and international level.

Corey claimed the Victorian Under-17 State Championship and took out the Victorian State Series, before finishing second in a round of the National Series in Cairns and third overall in the series.

At the National Championships, Corey placed fifth in the short course event, while internationally he finished 10th in a UCI Category 3 mountain bike race in Japan.

Corey was also invited to attend a national development camp at the Australian Institute of Sport in January, bringing together some of the country's leading young mountain biking talent.

Tim Decker is running Tuesday night sessions at Tom Flood Sports Centre for Juniors and advanced riders. Both road and track bikes will be catered for.

Beautiful day all round for the inaugural Terry Schintler Memorial 48km handicap by the Central Victorian Cycling Club at the Woodstock on Loddon Hall raced in glorious late winter's sun with an impressive 41 riders pinning on a number in memory of Terry from the vets down to the youngest entry, Austen Decker celebrating his 14th birthday today.
The handicap was split into 7 groups with 7 limit markers setting off with a 32minute advantage back to the scratch group of 6 that included Belinda Bailey & Austen Decker Team Brennan.
The hot dog circuit by 2 laps of 24km on the Newbridge Road gave all groups an idea how they were fairing and by the end of lap 2 all groups were slowly coming together except scratch loosing 3 workers & still chasing 2 minutes to the 3min group coming past the Woodstock Hall for the final time.
Tim Decker (3min) was captaining his men to perfection & looked the man to beat on the last turn around with 6km to the finish with only 3men left in the leading 8min group holding onto a 10sec advantage led by the ever dangerous fast man, Justin Leske.
In the final sprint to the line with a combined 3min & 8min groups saw Decker lead out early for Leske to pounce to take a memorable win with Tony Combes (3min) 2nd & Tim Decker hanging on to a well earned 3rd place.
The sprint for the Fastest Time award was a very close finish with birthday boy, Austen Decker edging out Belinda Bailey.
The after race presentations at the Woodstock Hall had the traditional afternoon tea followed by the presentations led by a very touching & emotional speech by one of Terry's close friends & past work colleague, Tim Decker.
Kerry Schintler then presented the top 10 & fastest time prize money thanks to the Schintler & Decker family with a $700 prize pool with the winner taking home $120 & Fastest Time $130.

Rego by 1:30PM & please bring an arvo plate of food.
With a sunny 18 degrees forecast it's the perfect way to honour one of the Bendigo regions true champions on & off the bike & who gave such much to our cycling community.

Next Saturday 29th August the Central Victorian Cycling Club will have the Terry Schintler Memorial Handicap at Woodstock.
It would great coming off the success of last Sunday's Rob Vernon Memorial as many of the BDCC members enter for this race in memory of Terry.

A former Austral wheel race winner excelled on both road and track, who loved cycling and devoted much time into growing the sport of cycling in Bendigo.
It would be fitting to see a big turnout in next Saturday's event to honour such a wonderful contributor to cycling.

Back on the road for Bendigo’s, Blake Agnoletto/FDJ after his successful Commonwealth Games campaign with his gold medal competing in France in this week’s UCI 2.1 TPC en Nouvelle-Aquitaine with his World Tour team, Groupama - FDJ United in Stage1 Saint-Claud › Dompierre-sur-Mer over 191.5km assisting his team mate, Paul Pehoet into 2nd place.
Agnoletto finished on the same time in the peloton in 63rd place.
Stage2 will be over a lumpy 191.5km from Saint-Claud › Dompierre-sur-Mer, France.
