A big happy birthday to one of our pilots mumโ€™s today! ๐ŸŽ‚ We from CWAB hope you have a wonderful day. ๐ŸŽ‰ Our pilot was able to take her mum for a ride around Lake Weeroona in the Trishaw yesterday as a special treat for her birthday! Just goes to show there are always new things to experience and we are glad we were able to help make your birthday a little bit more special! ๐ŸŽˆ

IT'S VOLUNTEERS WEEK!

We would like to take the opportunity to express our gratitude to all of our volunteers for everything that you do for our chapter big or small, it's all very much appreciated. Fitting for the occasion is to revisit the Pilots testimonials which were gathered for the last event we attended and attached below.

The work that we do as a chapter encourages both our older residents and people with a disability to get out to the outdoors and to stay connected with their environment and the community.

This in turn combats loneliness and social isolation resulting in benefits to their mental health and increased self confidence.

The benefits of our Trishaw rides for our passengers is simple in theory. It's the conversation, the sharing of lovely parks and gardens, in some instances bringing back memories from long ago, it's the sharing of life stories, sometimes perhaps meeting people that they know along the way, patting dogs, watching baby ducks or just watching other people walking their dogs. So in essence it's connecting them again to the community and the mobility that they once knew in a gentle, relaxing manner.

So a huge thank you to all of our volunteers, you do a wonderful job and definitely deserve a pat on the back. Well done! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
