Brisbane Gun Club

At the 2026 South East Zone annual carnival, which was held at Toowoomba on the weekend, BGC were successful in beating teams from other SEZ clubs to win the prestigious team event trophy the 'SEZ Meadows Transport Shield' which has been contested annually for more than 40 years and was won by Toowoomba last year.

The Shield is awarded for the highest average score from the six person team in the 50 target Point Score event, with the BGC team beating the closest team, Toowoomba, by three points.

The BGC shooters who contested and won the Shield this year are Alex Incani, John Porter, Gavin Langridge, Steve Patrick, Paul Hill and Shayan Rad, so remember to congratulate them when you see them next. (As a matter of interest, John was in the winning team in the Shield's inaugural year of 1985).

The Shield is now back in its customary place on the wall behind the range register - feel free to gaze at it when you are in the club house because no one else in the SEZ will be able to do the same at their home clubs.

Notice to all club members.

The BGC Committee wishes to advise all new and inexperienced club members that you can now book a range introduction session conducted each Saturday morning from 1100 -1200. These sessions are designed to assist shooters who are new to shotgun sports and will focus on safety and club etiquette.

The club cannot guarantee range access at other times if volunteers are unavailable. Should you wish to book a session please call 3398 4555 during club operating hours.

New shooters who are not BGC members are not able to access the range at this time unless as part of a Come and Try shooting experience package.
