Brisbane Mariners Rifle Club Inc

A big week of shooting with Pacific OPM, Duncan, and Kings in some, at times, character building conditions. 274 shooters competing in the Kings including a good turnout of Mariners both on the mound and assisting with ET and Range Officer duties. Highlights include:
Ernesto Cordova winning the Pacific and the Duncan in TRC.
Robert Jackson winning the Pacific and Kings in SPO.
Robert Street with a 3rd in Kings in SPO.
Greg Sophios getting a patch with a 7th in the Kings in FStdB.
Great effort from everyone who participated.

Some very good shooting yesterday with Brett Stephens topping TRA on the range with a 105.19 and Cindy Pressland achieving a personal best with a 105.17.

And some good participation by Mariners at the University of Queensland prize meeting. Some very challenging and at times, very wet, ranges.

Mariners had a couple of members participating in the Titans competition today. Ernesto and Ian being joined by Tom Smith (Crows Nest) and Gregg Burgess (Murwillumbah) with Peter Camm coaching. And no, we did not come last - almost.

And our winners from the MDRA Champion of Champions held on 31st January 2026 are:
Robert Jackson - SPC Open
Paul Johnson - Veteran F Std
Danny Gorincu - Veteran F Open
Well done everyone.

U25 OPM had 11 Mariners members participating with a few good results.
Rob Street won the SP Production aggregate on countback but then had to settle for 2nd place after a shoot-off for 1st place.
Ian Smith came 2nd in the TRB Aggregate and won the 900 yd.
Ernesto Cordova won the day one aggregate (he only shot day 1) and came first in both the 300 yd and 500 yd ranges.
Darryl Stewart shot a 99.7 at 800 yards to get a range 2nd place.
And many other good results.

And belatedly but importantly, Mariners club members had great success in the 2025 Peter Compton and Pam Kraut Memorial Competitions.
