1 YEAR TO GO until the 2027 World Archery Para Championships! 🌊

One year from today, the Gold Coast will welcome para archers from all around the world. A big moment for Australian archery!

The countdown is officially on. Who’s ready?

Brock Penna and Ellen Martini have been selected to represent Australia in archery at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games - the first Olympic sporting event ever held on the African continent.

The Games will run from 31 October to 13 November 2026, with archery contested at Abdoulaye Wade Stadium in Diamniadio.

SQAS is pleased to announce the appointment Harvey Price as the SQAS Team Manager for the upcoming National Target and Para Championships in Hobart 19-24 October 2026.

Harvey will be in touch with all SQAS archers heading to Hobart in the coming weeks.

Also a reminder that registrations for National Target and Para Championships in Hobart 19-24 October 2026 close in one week on Monday 31 August 2026, so if you are considering attending these championships get your entry in now.

No late entries will be accepted.

Get in some practice before the Indoor Nationals.

MPB welcomes members from other SQAS clubs to practice in our indoor hall on Sunday mornings the 9th and the 16th of August. The following conditions apply –

1 Open from 9.00am - 12.00noon. Shooting will stop around
11.45am to allow for lock down
2 Sign in and pay range fees. New target fee payable if required
3 Members from other SQAS clubs welcome - let your friends

4 Coaching not available
5 3 arrow ends only

The excitement is building after the announcement of the Gold Coast 2027 World Archery Para Championships, and it's a great opportunity for our Aussie athletes.

Para archer Tom Holland-Roach on competing at the championships in the Gold Coast: “As the qualification event for LA28, a home championship with a home crowd and a big team will allow us to establish our position as front and centre at LA28, before continuing this momentum into Brisbane 2032.”
