We’re back with a bang this year, celebrating our season launch as a whole club. Please join us on Thursday the 24th of September to kick the season off.

With lots of entertainment including a T20 match, a club raffle and dinner provided, the night is set to be an occasion.

Please make sure to bring any old kit to be swapped or donated!

You’ll hear from our club captains and coaches and any help with registrations will be provided

So get down for a great night!

CAPTAINS CALL

Last minute call for captain applications close at 5pm today.

Ideal candidates for the roles aren’t necessarily the best players in each grade or those with the longest club tenure, but those with great cricket brains, strong communication skills, inclusive leaders and people willing to help the club continue to evolve and grow.

If you’re interested in applying for any of the roles, drop Matt Skinner our club president an email with which role and why you think you’d be a great fit so the committee can consider all candidates.

BACK IN BLACK 26/27

Welcoming back Josh Langer after he came on board to the club last season. Josh fit in perfectly with our team culture and was a great asset to our 1st XI, taking 20 wickets @25.95. After a big off season playing indoor Cricket for "Name TBC" Josh will be looking to contribute with both bat and ball.

NEW TO THE NEST

Giving a warm welcome to two of our new men’s players, Bailey and Nathan Elder.

Bailey is a young leg spinner who played last season in St John’s Tecoma’s Alan Bailey Shield side. Across juniors and seniors he has taken 171 wickets with best bowling of 5/38. A diehard Melbourne renegades fan, we can’t wait to have Bailey, Kaitlin and daughter Skye around the club and see what he can deliver with the ball and maybe even the bat.

Nate is no stranger to Belgrave, having been part of a long running, very strange but good natured rapid bowling headband rivalry with Pox. Nate has career best figures of 5/29, which he proudly shared with the author of this post, were taken in his last game against Belgrave. Nate also played last season in St John’s Alan Bailey shield team where he took 11 wickets, leaving him 1 shy of 100 in total. Nate’s a mad Richmond tigers fan, loves the Vic Bushrangers and is now the second fastest bowler at the club. Looking forward to having Nate and his partner Susie around the club and seeing some fiery spells.

NEW TO THE NEST

Over the coming months we are going to share all of our new senior players across the grades so our members and supporters can get to know them, so let’s kick it off with one of our new men’s players, Cam Riley.

Welcome to Cam and his wife Nichaud. Cam joins us as a keeper/bat after a successful stint as a lower grade captain at St Andrews.

Cam had an impressive 19 dismissals last year, which is not quite as many years as his beloved bombers have been out of the finals race for 🤣

You will be able to pick Cam out because of his Courtside Barbers fresh trims. Yes, Sean wrote this post.
