RECORD STINT

Off the back of yesterday’s coaching announcement we want to take a quick moment to acknowledge the huge record breaking contribution to our club that Aaron Brunner has made, not with bat or ball, but as a leader.

Over the last 8 seasons, AB has been our Mens coach for 6 and 1st XI skipper for 7 which is a record tenure at Belgrave.

Aaron has invested thousands of hours into the playing group and the overall development of the club most don’t see. His loyalty and leadership in the face of hundreds of recruitment attempts over the years has been something clubs dream of.

Huge contribution that deserves recognition, and we are even luckier to have him back next season in a playing and mentor capacity.

Well done AB, another record, what an innings!

COACHING NEWS

Here’s a big one to start your week. The club is pleased to announce that a man who bleeds Belgrave, Ronan Culloty will be our Men’s coach and 1st XI Captain next season.

It’s not often a 19 year old gets bestowed with such an esteemed honour, but since his return to the club last year, Ronan has elevated our on and off field standards to a whole new level and we can’t wait to see what he will deliver for us, with the great man Aaron Brunner present to help mentor him.

Ronans playing record speaks for itself, in the mycricket era he has played 383 games for Belgrave, St Andrews, Fitzroy Doncaster and many representative sides. He has scored 6,969 runs at 34.2 including 22 x 50s and 7 x 100s, including making 333 @ 55 in only 9 games last season upon his return to the club.

Ronan has leadership in spades, captaining many sides and coaching our under 16s last year as he is extremely passionate about the development of our next generation of talent.

We are excited to hear his vision for the club at Preseason and can’t wait for this next era. Get behind the man.

COACHING NEWS

The club is excited to announce Chris Harris as our Senior Womens coach for 2026/27.

Chris is a highly respected leader who brings a wealth of cricket knowledge to Belgrave, having coached successful womens and men’s cricket teams on top of a lengthy playing and volunteering career that saw him awarded with life membership at Mountain Gate. He is the perfect person to help our girls take the next step after back to back finals campaigns.

Please welcome Chris, who joins Emma and Chloe as the 3rd Harris family member at the Graveyard.

CLUB UPDATE

The committee past and present have been working hard behind the scenes to get ready for the upcoming season for some time now and it’s all taking shape.

We’ve announced the return of our Mens and Women’s 1st XI MVP’s as well as our back to back Men’s 1s bowling average winner. We’ve got a lot more exciting news to share over the coming weeks from a playing, coaching, preseason and club growth perspective so stay tuned. The Belgrave Cricket Club is looking for our next Senior Women’s Coach. Coming off back to back B Grade finals series, you will be taking over a strong, competitive playing list ready to take the next step and more importantly the girls are an awesome crew to work with.
