The past couple of months have been packed with racing, and our members have been doing the club proud. πŸ’™πŸ’›

We have to start with our incredible ladies' team, who took out the 24-Hour Ultraβ€”an absolutely epic achievement! πŸ†πŸ’ͺ And of course, a huge congratulations to Sean for his outstanding effort as well. πŸ‘

At Ironman Cairns, a special mention goes to Phil for taking on a full Ironman just weeks after completing the Noosa Marathon. That's some serious endurance! πŸ’₯ Congratulations also to Alison and Gabi for representing the club in the Aquabike. 🚴🏊

Sue has been on a roll, setting impressive PBs at both the Brisbane and Cairns Half Marathons. Outstanding running! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ”₯
Well done to Kim, Janelle and Lindsay for completing the Hervey Bay Half Marathon. Another fantastic achievement! πŸ‘πŸŽ–οΈ

Our old club tent has found a new home with the Landsborough Scout Group, and they were incredibly happy and appreciative to receive it.

The group has very limited equipment and often needs to borrow gear from another club, so if anyone hears of sporting or outdoor equipment being given away, the Landsborough Scouts would love to be considered πŸ₯°

Sunshine Coast Triathlon Club – President’s Report

A bit of a mixed bag over the last few weeks, with session attendance down slightly. Not entirely sure whether that’s end-of-season fatigue 😩 kicking in, the less-than-inviting weather 🌧, or perhaps everyone discovering the joys of sleeping in! Hopefully we’ll see numbers bounce back as the sunshine returns.

On the racing front Firstly, congratulations to all our members who raced the T100 Gold Coast β€” a huge effort across the board! Special mentions to Kim πŸ₯‰ and Adam πŸ₯ˆ for outstanding performances and well-earned podium finishes.

The club was also proudly represented at the final Bribie Island Triathlon by Kim, Will and Will β€” fantastic to see our colours out there again. Well done all! πŸŠπŸš΄πŸƒ

At the Australian πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί Age Group Sprint Championships, Gerry flew the flag proudly and brought home πŸ₯‡ β€” an outstanding result!

Meanwhile, John has continued his rise to celebrity status with a terrific article in The Guardian about middle-aged triathletes. Fame, fortune and finish lines β€” he’s doing it all 😁

Across the ditch, TJ absolutely blasted the competition away at the πŸ‡³πŸ‡Ώ NZ Nationals, bringing home a well-deserved πŸ₯‡.

Closer to home at Moreton Bay, Susie, Mark and Young Will all collected the bling with πŸ₯‡πŸ₯‰πŸ₯‡ performances. Great racing from the crew!

In between all the action, somehow wetsuits became legal for our Friday ocean swim πŸ˜‚.

Membership continues to grow strongly, with the club now up to 64 members this year β€” fantastic to see the community growing both in numbers and spirit.

Finally, best of luck to club members Janelle, Sarah, Lindsay, Kim, Tracey, Raquel & Sean who are taking on the 24Ultra at the end of the month πŸ™Œ We know you’ll do the club proud.

Thanks to everyone who continues to train, race, volunteer and support the club β€” rain, shine or sore legs!

πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ Training with a swim buoy keeps you safe and visible in open water.
The bright high-visibility colour makes it much easier for boats, paddlers and other swimmers to spot you, adding an extra layer of safety during our Friday ocean swim session.
It’s a simple step that helps protect both you and your fellow members, and is strongly recommended by the committee.
Stay safe, be seen, and enjoy the swim 🌊

Beacon15L BE SAFE AND VISIBLE - High visibility, bright and contrast assessed 'Furnace Orange' buoy for swimming training ensures you are as visible as possible in the open water. Reflective elements provide added visibility for increased safety in open water for all conditions and seasons. KEEP YOUR BELONGIN...
