Beechworth Golf Club is an 18 hole sand green course in the tranquil surrounds of Beechworth.

On Sunday we had 11 players on the course for a Stableford event, which included 3 juniors.

Jackso Wells took a hit to the handicap, which might prove costly for this coming Sunday's matchplay final.
He had a great 38 points off a 13 handicap.

For runner up a countback was required. This was between junior George Pfahlert (36) and Andy Croome (16) who both had 35 points.
And as Croomey did the countback he was awarded runner up. 😂

The next best were Jamie Dolny 34, Jack Ritzen 33 and Ashton Leary 31.

Only one nearest the pin was claimed and that went to Zane Howard on the 5th.

The women also played their second round of the Club Championships on Sunday.

But the scores must be a secret at this scribe hasn't been privy to the results as yet.
Hopefully we will hasn't an update of the standings soon.

This Sunday the women play their third round of the Club Championships. 8:30 for 9am.
Before the men play a Stableford round at 11:30 for 12pm.

Please start getting your teams in for the AFL Public Holiday Ambrose on Friday September the 25th.

And the Men's Annual Tournament is on Sunday October the 4th. Which is also our first round of the Men's Club Championships.

Also this Sunday will see the final of the George King Memorial Matchplay Championships.
This will be contested between Jackson Wells and Dylan Pool.

Next Wednesday we are holding a Junior golf tournament.

This is open to all kids of all abilities.

We have a 6, 9 and 18 hole events to play in.

It's going to be a cracking day for golf tomorrow.

Remember we have three second round of the Women's Club Championships on the morning.
8:30 for 9am hit off.

Then in the afternoon we have a Mens Stableford comp.
11:30 for 12 hit off.

The Beechworth Golf Club is holding our leg of the North Eastern District Golf Association Junior Challenge in this coming School Holidays.

Our event will be on Wednesday September the 23rd.

Just under two weeks!

There are events for kids of all levels.

There are three events.

6 holes for kids aged 8 to 11. (Played on a modified short course)
9 holes 12-14 year olds.
18 holes. Kids aged 14-18.

Kids can play in an older age group if they choose and are capable.

Reminder to everyone this is FREE!

So please register your interest with Dylan ASAP.

We look forward to seeing as many kids participating as possible!

On what was a great day for golf, although very heavy under foot. We had 11 men front up for the September Monthly Medal.

The winner of the Medal was Dave Clark (15) with 36 points.
Runner up narrowly missing out on his 3rd Medal for the year was Jacko Wells (13) with 35 points.

Phil Pelgrim (17) claimed a ball with his 33 points.

Next to follow were Ashton Leary (20) 32, Rod Shaw (21) 32, Andrew Field (1) 32, Nathan Scott (21) 32, Zac Whitmore (35) 31, Simon Carracher (21) 31, Dylan Pool (0) 30, Andy Croome (16) 27.

No nearest the pins were recorded.

There were also two semi finals played in the Handicap matchplay Championships.

Jackson Wells defeated Andrew Field 2&1 and Dylan Pool defeated Andy Croome 1up.

Jacko and Dylan will meet in the final in two weeks time.

As was mentioned earlier the women also played today, playing their first round of their Club Championships.

Results will be posted when they are available.

Next Sunday is the second round of the Championships for the women. 8:30 for 9am tee off.

And for the Men golf is on 11:30 for 12 hit off.

We have a few big days coming up at Beechworth Golf Club over the next month or so.

We have our Annual AFL Ambrose day on Friday September the 25th.
Men's, women's and mixed teams.
9:30 for 10am. $25 per player.

Also on Sunday October the 4th we have our Mens annual Tournament.
10:30 for 11am tee off.
$30 per player.
Its not noted on the flyer, but there is also a junior nett event.

Also for the male members this year this is our first round of our Club Championships.
