The biggest night on the PSL calendar.

The one night a year that it's perfectly fine to leave your kids with the babysitter and stay at Connections til 4am.

The way it works:
🔥 Each team captain takes turns in "drafting" their team
🔥 Teams consist of 15 players + a goalie
🔥 If you're in the draft, you definitely get in a team

Doors at 630 - draft starts at 7 (or as soon as we work out how the projector works)
🍺Bar Tab (for as long as it lasts)
🍕Couple of Pizzas provided

Doesn't matter to us - if you didn't play summer last year you gotta try-out.

What's involved❓

- $20 buy-in at the bar (help us cover the ice time)
- Hour scrim. Have a laugh, have a yarn, don't take it too seriously
- Hot tip: Being a legend to your peers on the bench gets you further than being a hero on the ice

Are you studying media, communications, photography, journalism, or a related field and looking to build real experience in sports media?

Perth Summer League Ice Hockey is after passionate volunteers to help us in our upcoming season. We're not a for-profit organisation, and any profit we make from the season we put straight back into growing the sport.

This is a genuine opportunity to get rink-side, build your portfolio, and get your work seen by a growing community of players and fans.

We're after people who can:

- Capture game-day photography and videography
- Create content for our social media channels
- Design graphics and visual assets
- Write match reports and short-form articles
- Commit to regular games - we're not expecting you to be at every game, but we would like people who want to get involved regularly.

What you get out of it:

- Help and assistance in whatever you're interested in. We have a wide range of past and present volunteers who have gone on to have careers in the industry, and will help you.
- Portfolio-ready content from a real sporting competition
- Full credit on everything we publish
- A reference letter for your future career
- A warm and welcoming network of people

What we don't want:

- People who just watched Heated Rivalry/Off Campus and just want to get close to hot hockey players. Not only is it uncomfortable, most of us are old and fat (sorry)
- People who will treat our players as content props + objects, rather than people. Majority of people are just playing sport with their mates and would rather keep their personal life personal - you gotta respect boundaries.
- People who can't pass a working with children's check/police clearance. We're a family-oriented league and need people who share in those values.
- People who treat this as a one-game curiosity. We're looking for someone who wants to grow with us across the season, not ghost after round one. We understand things shift and change, but we really want people who are passionate about the sport.
