Following discussions with the then City of Sandringham, approval was given for the club to lease land in the F. Sad news reaches us that our friend and former member, Lachlan Tighe has passed away. Lachlan had been battling cancer for some time. His fight is now over and it’s time for him to rest in peace.
Lachlan had a huge presence in the world of bowls. He was the quintessential legend of our sport, both on and off the field.

He truly was a giant, as a member, bowler, coach, mentor, administrator and even as a mate. The all round good bloke, the champion bowler, the legendary coach! Simply, he meant something to those that knew him.
In the world of bowls there are few bigger than, Lachlan Tighe. He can lay claim to being a true power house of our sport. He will be sadly missed.
Our thoughts are with Lachlan’s wife Sam, their young daughter, his extended family and his friends.
It’s time to enjoy a good red in Lachie’s honour, “cheers to absent friends”!

The first use of our new outdoor area was the venue for the World Cup Socceroos vs Paraguay game at midday on Friday 26th June. Over 100 fans turned up to watch and cheer on the Aussies.
